That's probably right. Either way, I don't think it gives a great look when Ashton has just become Chairman, a job which is supposed to scrutinise his other job, chief exec. It slightly smacks of unnecessary ego, which is a shame. I've no reason to think that he has let ego get in the way of the bread and butter of his job - he's doing a really good job. But I think on the field, both literally and metaphorically, Kieran should be the gaffer, and should be seen to be the gaffer.
By the way, if and when we get a new stand, is there some way of ensuring that the IPSWICH TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB font is re-utilised? That would be a nice touch. I wonder what that font is called. I'd go with "D'Avray" if I'm feeling eccentric, or "Times New Kieran" if he's still around... | | | |
