Agent for Latte Lath 'Ipswich offered £20m'.

A group of Town fans 'Dodged a bullet. Only scored 4 this season. Never worth that!

Rewind a few months.

'£15m - £20m for Delap? Ridiculous! Only scored 8 goals in the Championship!'.

Presumably, if we made this offer and didn't get Broja then the funds are there to go back for him in January. We know that McKenna likes to go back for players like Hirst, Taylor etc who we have identified as a good fit and be persistent.

Can see Boro taking that happily and you'd imagine we'd be just as interested so one that likely has continued to be discussed and will get done?

Unless they're out of contention for promotion in January I can't see them letting him go in Jan. Possibly in the summer depending on which leagues we are both in.

Maybe if he's not been banging them in we will get away with being cheeky and offering less this time round.

I've given up trying to make my own judgement on linked players. There's one qualification that matters: If KM wants them, I want them too.

Broja still isn't fit I see, not even able to take part in practice matches yet. Got away with that one thanks to the medical team.

I feel we dodged a bullet with Broja rather than Latte Lath.

Expect we may have our sights set higher in January now we've had a chance to recalibrate our targets and don't have the time pressure to get a deal done.

I was puzzled as to why so many people were keen on Broja, especially after Chelsea tried to mug us off trying to unload an injured player contracted to them until 2028. Yes, he was a promising yoof but there was no point in taking somebody who is going to take a long while to get full week in week out match fitness back, if he ever does.

We certainly did dodge one there. As for Agents making noises, it’s only 6 weeks or so until the transfer window making noise to drum up interest will start now. Unless he’s changed his agent or muzzled him (I would in KMs shoes), I’ve no doubt McKenna’s name will be doing the rounds too, especially if we now win a game or two.

The circus of we might, might not have offered, what an Agent says: best ignored in my view.

If a deal can be done around the £15M mark, then I would be happy for him to be our only Jan signing.

Does anyone know how Fotis Ioannidis has been performing so far this season? I wonder if we might go back in for him at some point...

Not great according to the stats.

He's played 9 matches in the Greek Super League, 629 mins of game time (6 starts).

Zero goals, zero assists, one yellow.

As has been said before strikers in a McKenna side are expected to do a different job to just scoring goals. Ioannidis is a hold up player just like Hirst.

Am I remembering right we went in for Ioannidis before Delap? Several offera after Hutchinson. Then we went for Delap, more than a hold up player, a battering ram with skills. I think it panned out OK. Curious what single player we go for in Jan.

Keeping his powder dry until he makes the move here.

Clearly Ashton has had a word with him about driving down his value.
