She’d be fine and it doesn’t really matter. They only need someone to read out a few scripted wisecracks between the briefest of highlights and Shearer’s mind numbingly uninsightful analysis. And besides, most people probably watch it when they’re pissed. |  |

Haven’t watched it much for years tbh. Only this year a bit because of town. Linekers been there more than long enough and someone else deserves a chance. I do like Mark Chapman but realise he may not be what they want. Mind you it’s the format I don’t like rather than presenter, preferred the old main game format with goals from the rest rather a wish washy 5 minutes on each game. |  | | |

She seems quite down to earth and likeable as a person but I can’t say I find her to be a particularly slick broadcaster. I don’t think the host needs to have been a player at any level, I’d rather just have a really good presenter in the job tbh. I think Gabby Logan is superb personally. |  | | |

She can't even speak well.
I have nothing aginst her, but she's an awful presenter. Someon that can't even pronounce the end of words should not be presenting flagship programs.
But of course she ticks all the boxes, woman tick, black tick, gay tick
Now thats all great if she was good at her job, but i personally don't think she is and i would hate to think she is getting gigs based on ticking the boxes rather than actual merit.
And before anyone says i'm anti-woman presenter - Gabby Logan would be superb for the MOTD gig. A proper presenter. So was Hazel Irvine, they exist but Alex Scott is not one. [Post edited 13 Nov 2024 23:40]

Not sure why Colin Murray doesn't seem to get much TV work. He's superb on Radio 5 and hugely knowledgeable in comparsion to somone like Alex Scott. | |

What I like about Chapman is that he's not afraid to ask "normal person" questions, which someone who'd played professionally probably wouldn't think to ask. So in that sense I prefer a non-footballer as a presenter, and Logan would be my number 1. | |
