Delap was marked well all game. Would it have been worth playing AH at 70 minutes instead of Clarke or even dare I say, Delap? They would have planned for Delap but probably not AH.

With all due respect, there’s not really a lot they would have had to plan for AAH.

Ali wouldn’t have had any luck at all with the way Forest played.

Do you have green eye printed on the back of the orange shirt btw?

Why on earth are people trying to make a decent young man, with clear potential, who has had an injury and played very little so far, into a scapegoat?

Its pathetic and damaging.

These people always have to have someone to be down on don't they? Muppets.

It's not the player it's the fact he's fked.

A fit Al Hamadi who could be seen running fast. Direct and powerful for AFC Wimbledon would be applauded by all town fans. However we haven't had the pleasure of seeing it since he joined as he had and still has a groin issue.

It's not actually fair to use him at all imo as it's not doing him any good nor us.

I think it’s pretty clear he’s not up to the level needed right now. Partly for fitness/injury reasons, but also he was probably bought with a mind to our future past, not present. If that makes any sense lol. A fit Al Hamadi could come on and impact games in the EPL, but I doubt we expected him to be a game changer in the PL. But who knows what he’s capable of with a bit of time. Maybe he still has a role to play this season as he gets fitter, or maybe his he’s someone who becomes more valuable next year if we go down. That said, I agree that as long as he’s at the club we should support him. Constantly getting on his back when he’s very much work in progress helps nobody. There’s a lot to like about him.

I genuinely can’t tell if you’re being serious or on the wind up here.

Who’s turning him into a scapegoat? I simply replied to the op stating that they wouldn’t have had to “plan” for him to make a threatening difference. Am I wrong?

I’m not damaging the lad in any way. He’s clearly miles away from being a Premier League striker but I don’t wish him (or any ITFC player) any kind of malice. Hopefully he can recapture some form and confidence in the way of a loan move in January.

Think you’ve just gone way OTT with your reply here.

Yep. My nickname at school in Ipswich a very long time ago.

I like Al Hamadi and he was on the bench so KM must think he has some use. We looked a bit flat today in second half which is a shame but I'm looking forward to the next three. 9 points will do just fine.

People are just saying he’s not ready for the Premier League.

AAH, McKenna, Ashton - they would all agree. But he’s the 2nd best striker we currently have until January, so we’re making do.

It’s really not controversial to say he’s not up to it, given he was in L2 this time last year.

Not sure it's like that.

He is all of those things but he is well off the required standard at the mo.

He should be heartened from Callum Wilson, Deeney, Wood, Vardy et al who have made it work eventually through hard work and learning.

Seriously have you not seen him trying to move around a football pitch?

I can't wait to see the league 2 version of Al hamadi when he's ready. That fella looked the business.

A little of that but mostly last season and comparisons to Hirst, Delap and other prem quality.

We can't afford to have someone learning on the job without obvious quality or almost instant adaption.

McKenna seems to feel the same and sees them train every day.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Please get off your high horse, mate.

He's not up to it. I feel a bit for him as he should be out on loan. For me, League One would be his best loan move. When he moved here some fans went completely over the top on him. He scored 4 goals* in a relatively short period of time which meant some got their calculators out and calculated his goals to game ratio as phenomenal and he was an incredible talent. But that over-looked the fact ... he wasn't that great. I can understand why Kieran doesn't want to use him, although he will do his best. He needs to go out on loan to a level which suits and can bring on his game. The PL is 2 levels to high for him IMO.

*Those 4 goals were two 5 yard tap-ins, a dead-rubber penalty and a Leif Davis shot which deflected of his shins on the goal line.

AAH I am sure by his own admission would declare he is not a premier league player at this moment in time in his short career.

Maybe a loan to top of league one Wycombe who he played for before and have an Ipswich connection would be a good move for him in the new year, in fact that would be a perfect fit for him IMO.

So should we keep trying with him until we know one way or the other? Not sure we have that luxury in a relegation battle.

If McK thought he was up to it (considering he sees him every day in training) do you think he would be starting more games or at least getting more game time?

I like AAH and I know he was carrying an injury last season but as it currently stands he is not good enough and needs regular football at Champ or even League one level to build fitness and confidence before we make a final decision.

He almost certainly would have been out on loan had we landed an additional striker in the summer.

He is actually pretty fast when fully fit but definitely looked some way off the explosive forward we first saw last season

He probably isn't PL ready any way but looks a shadow of the player he was at the start

That's not his fault if he is carrying a knock himself

Yeah exactly. He's currently looking like ahadme when he comes on whereas in league 2 he looked like a D Bent type forward imo.

The issue we had in the second half is that we couldn't really break out of our own half, so the question of who was or should have been centre forward is rather academic.

From recollection, the same thing happened in the second half of the Everton game (and I think has happened in other games), and we have to accept that teams such as Forest are very difficult to break down once they have a lead.
