Delap is a physical player and he's the only fit centre forward - that we know is - up to premier league standards, meaning he's playing a lot more minutes than is ideal. It was inevitable he was going to get a ban sooner or later. It's really not his fault we don't have the backup available to cover such a situation. [Post edited 14 Dec 2024 18:02]

Exactly this. He seemed very surprised he'd been booked, you have everyone funnelling into the same tunnel, and several opposition players that had completely lost their heads.

He’s a young man who cares. Dopey, but I love the fact he is there for his mates. Sh£t happens. And he could do with a little break - he’s looked a tad ‘leggy’ in the past few home games and the injury risk with a young player was, in my completely ignorant opinion, increasing. Opportune. |  | | |
