The next seven (ending with Liverpool away) are all utterly fiendish. Our second half of the season is very much back loaded with the "easier" fixtures, which looks good in some ways but probably won't help us greatly if we have a major deficit to pull back. Hopefully we can pull something out of a couple – a win and a draw somewhere might be as much as we can do. [Post edited 18 Dec 2024 9:35]

Strangely - the Newcastle game looks like it might be the most likely for a win to me. They play midweek - and can be very indifferent - even though there pace scares me. Joelinton is out which helps

No win at Wolves next week and our points total could very well still be 9 on Feb 1st :(
Not being pessimistic, just realistic, but for me that is a huge reality check for us and how bad it could get before it gets better.
We need to hang on over this next 7 games and be in touch at the end of January and hope others around us have similar horrific fixture lists.
Confident we will strengthen key positions in January, but it is very possible we could see ourselves 6+ points adrift of 4th bottom come Feb 1st and have to hope McKenna can keep up morale if we do look like getting cut adrift [Post edited 18 Dec 2024 10:01]

Fortunately Leicester have Liverpool (a), Man City (h) and Villa (a) after this weekend. I think they'll beat Wolves on Sunday though and we should prepare to be five points adrift by new year's day. Far from insurmountable and the hope must be that we have the right new arrivals lined up quickly. [Post edited 18 Dec 2024 10:10]

I've said throughout, we need to get wins at home to stay up.
All the home games we COULD win but realistically Newcastle and Brighton are winnable.
However most teams have off days as we've seen with Arsenal v Everton. Just need a bit of luck. But could easily lose but 4+.
Even the games after Liverpool aren't easy

Was just thinking about ths last night. Yep if we were offered 5 from our next 6 I'd definitely take it. Judging by how the seasons gone so far, I expect us to be competitive in all the games, but could easily imagine tight losses in all of them and we somehow come away with 0 points to show.
