Surely now it's between the bottom six. Personally I think Everton, Palace and Wolves will pull away from the bottom 3, but I'd love to be wrong.

Supporters who think we'll stay up on 10:35 - Dec 27 with 3435 views | unstableblue | It’s a really tough league this year. It feels a lot more even. Liverpool aside. Points are being taken up and down the league. The Fulham’s and Bournemouth’s, Brentford at home, are giving everyone tough games. So it might be a higher points tally to survive I think Leicester and Saints will finish below us, which is an achievement given their recent spending and squad strength over us. As for the 3rd team… well it’s going to come from Everton, Palace or Wolves… Will the vague possibility of an implosion at a West Ham, Brentford… hell even Man U… or are really struggling. Think West Ham just have too good a squad. Man City points deduction is possible, but doubt it would be triggered this season. As for Wolves the lack of a Cunha ban has been massive… allowing their manager to have a good start… a long ban for him and a return to their messy confidence and they could get drawn in but their squad is goodish. Palace are not quite right this season.. and the poor form doesn’t seem to be going away… they are defensively solid though… but could have a bad run at any time Everton are in full Dyche mode… they’ll eeek out results… it will be ugly. Suggest the new owners will stick with him to survive. Not sure they can do much in January. They tend to improve through the season. But the fans are not happy. And if fortunes turn,,, they could have a poor run. Concentrate on ourselves, do some good January business and win a few and things change… we’ll get surprise results. Fans need to improve and get back to enjoying the ride.

Supporters who think we'll stay up on 10:47 - Dec 27 with 3354 views | _clive_baker_ | Everton won't go down, they're too strong. Since the opening 4 games which they lost they've shown mid table form and only lost twice in their last 13. I don't think Palace will either tbh. Its 3 from the bottom 4, and with Wolves uptick in results post O'Neil its looking ominously like 3 from the bottom 3 (although Wolves do have some tough games coming up). Ultimately from our perspective we can't influence any of that, we need to start putting more points on the board. We need to average 1 point a game from here on in to have a chance I would think, maybe a touch more. Relatively speaking our May fixtures look OK, we need to be within a couple of points of 17th at the end of April and hopefully we can make a strong dive for the line.

Supporters who think we'll stay up on 11:01 - Dec 27 with 3251 views | kpblues | After being outplayed in the Newcastle game and looking at the other teams around us I sadly think we will go down (in third place from the bottom) together with Leicester and Southampton. Dyche will get Everton winning ugly and strong. Wolves are getting the new manger bounce and looked good yesterday. It is a possibility that Crystal Palace may start to drop places so that could help. We have been very unfortunate not to win a few more games (Fulham, Aston Villa, Brentford, Bournemouth come to mind) but it hasn't happened so we are where we are. I will never the less continue to keep behind the team and manager and am so grateful for the journey so far. COYB

Supporters who think we'll stay up on 11:07 - Dec 27 with 3203 views | PrideOfTheEast | Wolves are our hope - the others are far too strong. Need to stay in touch over the next month or so and then beat the likes of Southampton, Wolves, West Ham at home as a minimum and presumably pick up 15 points ish from the other 16 games.

Supporters who think we'll stay up on 11:19 - Dec 27 with 3060 views | Metal_Hacker | I personally think we’ve gone up too soon and could’ve done with another season dabbling alri d the play offs and then going up. The step up has been too great with the calibre of player / squad we had without taking the purchases into account. Those new players coming in also had to step up and get to know how KMcK’s system works etc. injuries event helped for sure. It’s a massive step up but I feel this season’s experience is needed to come back stronger with the experience we’ve encountered. I’ve no doubt we’ll go down this season but it’ll happen for a reason I’m sure it will make us stronger for season after next

Spurs ? Actually, now that you mention it, if they sack Ange (or he just gets fed up and accepts another job offer) they could be in trouble. As others have said, Wolves look like they have got themselves sorted out and I expect them to carry on up the table a bit. Hopefully Southampton will not experience the same effect and are doomed. I have my doubts about Van Nistelroy but he could have enough nous to get Leicester working as he gets through his own managerial learning curve. I thought Palace finished last season terribly under the new manager and they were my favourites for relegation when they started this one in the same manner but, sadly, it looks like Gleisner has found his feet now and they will be holding hands with Wolves as they survive. Amorin will get Man. United working properly after the January transfer dealings. So who else could fall into that third relegation spot beside Southampton and Spurs if not us ? West Ham if Lopeglui goes from permanent scowl to full blown batsh1t ? Brighton, Bournemouth or Brentford if they lose their manager to Spurs ? It is going to have to be a superhuman effort for us to stay up but never say never until it is mathematically impossible.

Supporters who think we'll stay up on 11:33 - Dec 27 with 2916 views | Blue_Heath | Quite simply we won't, battling for third bottom with Leicester is as good as it is going to get. I suspect by end of January Wolves, Evrton and Palace will have pulled even further away. The premier league is essentially now a closed shop. It will take something incredible for any promoted team to stay up and will only get worse year on year. Our record at home against the so called 'lesser' sides tells you all you need to know. My biggest worry is will we become the first team ever not to win a premier league home game. The biggest task is to build a team that we can keep together next year and go again but bouncing back won't be easy, see Luton Town. Looking forward to more footy matches next season rather than 3 games then international break and having to wait 5 mins every time someone scores to see if it is a goal.

Bottom 3 won't change, assuming Sheff U and Burnley bounce back will be interesting to see if they can compete better second time around. This is going to be the most boring prem ever. Liverpool virtually won league already and by end of January bottom three will be cut adrfit.

Not sure we can afford to buy many players and also who with actual proper premier league experience would come here, also we'd need to sell a few? I'd possibly look to loan a solid keeper and get an experienced centre mid, Phillips won't be here next season or Cajuste, Taylor is improving but our bigest issue is we have a team lacking premier league experience. The teams that play us know exactly how to con the ref, run the clock down, see a game out etc. We don't.

If Wolves keep Cunha I think they stay up. A 6 game ban would be helpful but I suspect it's going to be more like 2 games which sends completely the wrong message

I just looked at the form table and tweaked it with the assumption we would survive (which we are very much still in with a shout of doing so).

I assume Wolves decision not to accept the charge will result in any punishment being doubled. Minimum of 4 match ban would be in order. As far as which three clubs are relegated it depends if any clubs suffer points deduction for over spending. Having said thst have a nasty feeling that this season will be a free hit with new rules in force from next season.

I think they have accepted it. Just no decision has been made. Agree it should be 4 minimum. If it was on a player in the game, it would be straight red and 3 games. Doing it from behind, outside of the heat of the game, on an innocent bystander = significant aggravating factors. Query why, if the ref found / invented a reason to book delap (something we still have not had clarity on - surprise...) after the final whistle, he was not advised to deal with the rest by VAR.

“The teams that play us know exactly how to con the ref, run the clock down, see a game out etc. We don't.” The good news is that we don’t need financial clout or new players to sort that one out, Morsy can do it in the dressing room

A strong second half of the season from Phillips would be massive for us (and him). Here we are in late December and he’s only started 7 games. Not sure where his career goes from here.

There is no evidence to suggest we’d be cut adrift at any point which people seem to suggest. Likely it will go down to the wire and that is before factoring by mid January we could have strengthened to a higher ratio vs other teams as well as have a few key players back.
