If you think we'll stay up, I'm interested to know who you think will be relegated instead.

Surely now it's between the bottom six.

Personally I think Everton, Palace and Wolves will pull away from the bottom 3, but I'd love to be wrong.

It’s a shame majority of fans now have to be so negative as eventually it transfers to the team and therefore does not help. There is no evidence to suggest we’d be cut adrift at any point which people seem to suggest. Likely it will go down to the wire and that is before factoring by mid January we could have strengthened to a higher ratio vs other teams as well as have a few key players back.

What evidence suggests it will go to the wire?

The fact that there are only a few points in it so far, and we have been competitive in most games.

Not a difficult one tbh.

I think it’s only Wolves realistically who could go down out of those that didn’t come up last season.

Just got to hope the new manager bounce doesn’t last long for them + we have a good run ….

Spurs ? Actually, now that you mention it, if they sack Ange (or he just gets fed up and accepts another job offer) they could be in trouble.

As others have said, Wolves look like they have got themselves sorted out and I expect them to carry on up the table a bit.

Hopefully Southampton will not experience the same effect and are doomed.

I have my doubts about Van Nistelroy but he could have enough nous to get Leicester working as he gets through his own managerial learning curve.

I thought Palace finished last season terribly under the new manager and they were my favourites for relegation when they started this one in the same manner but, sadly, it looks like Gleisner has found his feet now and they will be holding hands with Wolves as they survive.

Amorin will get Man. United working properly after the January transfer dealings.

So who else could fall into that third relegation spot beside Southampton and Spurs if not us ? West Ham if Lopeglui goes from permanent scowl to full blown batsh1t ? Brighton, Bournemouth or Brentford if they lose their manager to Spurs ? It is going to have to be a superhuman effort for us to stay up but never say never until it is mathematically impossible.

You have a strange take on Palace and Gleisner last season. When he arrived in Feb. they were fourth bottom. They finished 10th, their best ever PL finish.

The three that came up,
We went up a year to early,
Season after next week will be stronger and still have the financial clout,
Think in the next few seasons us and Leeds will have the financial stability to stay ruffle the alleged elite,

I don't think we've gone up too early, had we not gone up there's no guarantee we'd have been so strong in the Championship. We could easily be mid-table thinking "what-if?". See Coventry, Boro etc...

Sliding Doors moment's.

Next season we'll have the advantage of parachute payments, and if we can get back up at the first attempt, then we'll have 2 years of EPL money against FFP and P&S.

If we can get back at the first attempt then that's our best chance of staying up. After that it'll get harder to keep bouncing (see Norwich, Watford etc). Our biggest advantage if the stability, ownership and lack of chaos.

I think Southampton are doomed. They have a lot of ground to make up and they don't seem to have improved with a new manager either.

Beyond that perm 2 from Ipswich, Leicester, Wolves, Palace and a very outside shout of West Ham, Everton, Man Utd (who can tell what sort of a January window they will have and whether the pressure and problems might increase for them?) or Man City (you never know, the Premier League might manage to punish them and get the charges to stick - but I doubt it). Realistically, we need to do a bit better than 2 of Leicester, Wolves and Palace. To start, we need to start winning some matches at home.

Not sure we can afford to buy many players and also who with actual proper premier league experience would come here, also we'd need to sell a few? I'd possibly look to loan a solid keeper and get an experienced centre mid, Phillips won't be here next season or Cajuste, Taylor is improving but our bigest issue is we have a team lacking premier league experience. The teams that play us know exactly how to con the ref, run the clock down, see a game out etc. We don't.

Don't think it's a case of who we could afford or whether Premier players would come to us. They will always move it not wanted if the wages are there and the contract long enough so that if we got relegated they would still be on that wage. I think it's more to do with how far adrift we are from the pack in January as to where we go with regards to recruiting.

at present both Man Utd and Man City are in deep relegation form - for Man Utd it could be a close call ? I think the 3 that came up will go down unless wolves or one other team surprise us ? 4 points from the next 2 games will change my mind - and that should be very doable ?

Yesterday, Leicester looked like they’d given up already. Several of their players didn’t seem to want to be on the pitch nor bust a gut for anything. I’d be very worried if I was a Leicester fan. Carry on with that minaret and they’ll be down. I suspect we’ll be the third, but you never know.

18. Wolves
19. Leicester
20. Southampton

Definite info.

That's the combination we are hoping for I suspect

It would take a collapse from the ones above now and I can't see that happening

Frankly with the way Wolves carried themselves in our recent game, I hope they are one of those to fall

You're right, it must have been their January and February that I was remembering as terrible. They finished the season very strongly in fact. Which makes the poor start this time all the more surprising. Let's hope they repeat that poor form in the coming January and February but carry it through to the end of the season this time.

I actually think it's either go down. Or if we do stay up we magically find ourselves in 14th and feeling nice and relaxed in the final couple games of the season

Quite simply we won't, battling for third bottom with Leicester is as good as it is going to get. I suspect by end of January Wolves, Evrton and Palace will have pulled even further away. The premier league is essentially now a closed shop. It will take something incredible for any promoted team to stay up and will only get worse year on year. Our record at home against the so called 'lesser' sides tells you all you need to know. My biggest worry is will we become the first team ever not to win a premier league home game.

The biggest task is to build a team that we can keep together next year and go again but bouncing back won't be easy, see Luton Town. Looking forward to more footy matches next season rather than 3 games then international break and having to wait 5 mins every time someone scores to see if it is a goal.

I think you’re over negative! I agree that it’s likely we’ll go down, but you cite Luton - but then there is Sheff Utd and Burnley! No way will we be Luton - with the parachute and other backing we’ll replace the players we’ll lose and strengthen overall to come back up.

Nobody really knows, but if we fight for each game we have a chance of staying in the league, if we don’t we have no chance. So that leaves only one option, we have to fight.

Also relegated should be Norwich.
