But I don't really trust them as they also say Wolf might be off, which I think is unlikely.

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12028/13275390/january-transfer-window-2

"Ipswich are another club looking to continue work from the summer and they would like to make as many as five new additions to help keep them in the Premier League.

They are looking at strengthening down the right-hand side of the team, as well as looking at new strikers and midfielders.

They had a £20m bid rejected by Middlesbrough for Emmanuel Latte Lath on Deadline Day but it remains to be seen if they will follow that up in this window.

In central midfield they are looking for more depth after adding Kalvin Phillips and Jens Cajuste on season-long loan deals.

Two or three players may also leave the club in January. Cameron Burgess, Luke Woolfenden and Massimo Luongo see their contracts expire on June 30 so can speak to foreign clubs from January 1."

Or Burgess.

I also think they're wrong about CM, ignoring the existence of Morsy and Taylor.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Not sure. If it doesn’t look like we’re going to offer Burgess a new deal and he gets a 3 year deal from abroad, then he might want to look at that (of course that wouldn’t come in to affect until the summer, but most clubs would try sort a deal now).

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

I'd have thought we'd offer Burgess something, if only to ensure a fee in the summer. Or we may want to keep him at the club beyond that, been doing not bad as a Prem defender.

Could definitely see Burgess accepting something back home in Australia.

You think he’d swap his current position playing in the best league in the world to play vs a kangaroo and a crocodile?!

Could imagine that if Rangers or Celtic offered a 3 year deal, he might also be interested

Agree, but he could easily have a couple of years in the Prem first as our back up LCH, then he can retire to the A-League which is truly appalling, League 2 level

Which overseas club would offer him?

If ever there was someone destined to play his career in the uk, it’s him!

I’m sure he wouldn’t be short of offers in Europe, and that’s before you get to Japan, Korea and Australia.

Not that I’d want him to go, think he’s done enough in his time to warrant a new deal. Just simply hypothetical that if the club wasn’t looking to offer him anything, and someone from abroad offered him the security of a longer term deal, I’m sure he’d take it … and usually this time of year the buying club negotiates a deal to take them 6 month early.

They could be off, remember Town are looking to grow and they are not going to mess about as owners have plans to continue to move forward.

I can see Mass leaving and being replaced by someone with a bit more quality. We don't tend to sit around and rightly so. Also think you've got to look ahead, as it stands, we've got just Morsy and Taylor for next season.

He shouldn't be going anywhere,
Unlucky to lose his place last two games,
Didn't start the season, obviously didn't sulk as soon as he was called upon stepped up to the mark and has been excellent,
Worth a deal,
Given so much in the last three years,
Must be hell of a ride for him personally,

Looking to grow I agree,
But if we go down there our best options both are here,
And both proved they can do it in the premier if we went back up,
I'd keep them,

Didn't Burgess have his 1 year option triggered in the summer just gone though? I don't think there is an option this summer upcoming.

We're 18th so it's a bit of a stretch to suggest that anyone outside of Delap have really shown themselves to Premier League quality just yet.

If the opportunity presents itself to improve then we should take it, even if the improvement is in an existing area of strength. The main issue at the minute will be money, you've got to expect that we were pretty much at the limit of what a transfer spend could look like for a club that might get relegated. Unless we're sure of recouping some in the summer (Delap) then any significant outlay will be gambling with the club's future.

I think we'll struggle to keep Burgess. He's not daft and will see that Greaves will be tough to keep out of the team long-term given the amount we invested in him.
He's also a rare breed being a tall, naturally left-footed centre-back. He's turned himself into a bloody good defender and I reckon he'd be worth £10m if he had a bit longer left on his contract,

Woolfie had been fantastic last couple of games - thought he was great against Liverpool too. Be madness to move him on, especially as our best on the ball defender.
