Striker 21:42 - Jan 3 with 5285 viewscressi

All these players been linked but none are a striker where do people we are going with this and apart from the lazy links anyone got a clue .We are a injury away from what could be a disaster.

Well before yesterday we weren’t linked with any of these players and so you’d imagine a striker move could happen quickly once it’s close. You’d hope that’s the one move they’ve been most keen to do but as with the summer there really aren’t many sure things about, and we were probably competing with most of the bottom half of the Prem for anyone half decent.

Josh Sargent is only a few miles up the A140, easy for Ashton to travel there without any journalists spotting him. The first we'll hear the news is the day he actually signs

For PL level, there might be some hyperbole there.

Hirst hasn't done anything as yet to prove himself a very good PL striker.

Attributes are right. He's big, strong, reasonably quick, able to terrorise defenders. The one game Hirst started, he scored.

The striker will be the hardest one to get, probably will go to the last few days of the window. Teams unlikely to just part ways with a good striker.

Yeah I was kind of wondering if he might fit our style, but I can't remember if he was as mobile as Liam and George. Hmmm, perhaps

Tammy Wynette maybe, a justified signing but she’s ancient.

What we can be sure of is that the players we are trying to sign have been identified and every effort is being made to sign them . History tells us that so panic not .

The 'football industry' will know we want a striker, so the fee will be massive and I assume getting a PL ready #9 to a club who is fighting (and winning) the relegation battle would be well hard.

I’m encouraged and surprised by the players were being linked with. Whether we can land any is another matter!

But surprised none seem to be the out and out striker. I really like the sound of Doak, but he’s a right winger of attacking midfielder isn’t he? Unless we’re going to spend a lot more than I expected I’d have thought we’d be saving the big bucks for a Prem experienced centre forward.
