Altho he did nothing of note..
He did however show on a few occasions how to make a run for Burgess to chip it over into an unoccupied space and Hirst makes a run around the defender to meet the ball.
It's those runs that made him a dangerous player for us as it opens up passing options. |  |

Came on for 15 minutes and done more than Ali. Unlucky not to score with a chip when put through on goal. Also on another occasion was unlucky not to score from a cut back from broady.

Bordering 7 months out over the past 2 years by my reckoning. 4 months last season, August and November - January. That’s a fair chunk and something we can not rely on not happening again over the final 4-5 months of season. |
League, 55 appearances in 87 games since he joined and he played less than half the total minutes of those 55 games he took part in, plenty of which were like today (recovery minutes) we definitely need another striker. |  | | |

I make it 3 injuries, 1 Hamstring last year and 2 Knee injuries this year. I agree that he's no Teddy Bishop, but he has missed a significant portion of the last year. Hopefully, this period will be behind him now but it definitely highlights that we need a backup of at least the same quality as Hirst. | | | |

It's never been a quality issue with Hirst - if we could guarantee his fitness we wouldn't need another striker, but not sure we can rely on that happening. |  |
