He never looked troubled frankly, very assured

Obviously tougher tests await

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Decent and assured, as much as he could do against lower L1 opposition.

Decent, Axel vibes but he doesn't have that look about him where everything looks easy for him like Axel does. Solid defensively, relatively comfortable on the ball but doesn't look a huge threat going forward. All in all, suits the way we play and slots in to that role nicely. Whether we now revert to a 4, I'm not sure, but he could play the O'Shea role in a 5, moving him central.

Not really troubled, but looked decent enough.

Thought he had a great game personally, looks like will be really good for one in ones - very assured and very good, clean tackling. Looks like a Chris Makin with pace

Solid but not really the gameto judge him by.

Looked like he’d been at the club for months, settled in perfectly, extremely comfortable receiving and passing the ball, dealt with whatever came his way and seemed very happy to take the ball forwards up the pitch with great confidence and control, made a cracking, goal saving tackle too. If this is the semi fit version with no minutes under his belt, can’t wait to see what the final product looks like.

Positive but today was a bit like judging how effective a cat is at hunting when they eat a tin of sheba.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Reminded me of axel when he first started playing for us but with a bit more fitness from the off.

Read the game well. Made one important interception when he read an attacking situation well but he glided through the game like it was indeed a training session. Very positive debut and looks assured.

a niche perspective
