Blimey, Whittaker to Boro 12:58 - Jan 24 with 4529 viewsghostofescobar

£6mill plus poss £2mill add ons. Really rated him during our L1 and Championship days. Think he's been injured quite a lot this season? Not sure he's someone we'd want now. Good player on his day though.

You'd be fuming if your the Plymouth boss wouldn't you. Accepting relegation, but i guess they can't turn it down.

From what I’ve seen of him he’s massively overrated - doesn’t do a lot for a few matches but then scores a spectacular goal and his value increases.

But to be fair, he’s been playing in a struggling team bereft of creativity and so it could be a move advice recharges his career.

Is there a 'bad attitude' reduction in the price given what Muslic said the other night. Probably being so honest *might* have cost Argyle some ££.

Joining up with Azaz from their league one days?

Apparently Burnley still think they might be able to hijack the deal though

His asking price was £1.5million to £2 million back in the day when he was recalled to Swansea, so Boro have been taken to the cleaners, horrible, horrible deal for them, guess the Latte Lath deal is done if they're spending that sort of money.

Yip, you could well be right, but I do think he's overrated . A bit of a one trick pony

When he's on it he seems pretty hot, but only seems to be Schuy that has got the best out of him or when playing Ipswich (Nugent mk 2)

To be fair to Rooney, I thought he agreed to not be paid compensation when he “mutually agreed” his leaving?

£6M-£8M for him is absolutely bonkers. I would have thought £2M-£3M tops. Plymouth are down without him, but he is no Lathe Lath.

Steven Schumacher going to Stoke was the nail in the coffin before Wayne Rooney even took them over.

19 goals, 8 assists last season in a poor team.
More goal involvements than an almost 3 years older Nathan Broadhead.

Quite. Surprised they didn't reappoint him when Rooney left.

I think he is. Under a good manager in a half decent team, I think he will do fine.

For that money they might have a bit of a bargain, given his ability and looking at prices for forwards these days.

Not in today’s prices. He scored 19 goals in the Championship last season for a side that survived relegation only on the final day. No player who’s done that is going for 2-3m no matter how out of form.

Believe Lazio offered over £10m last season so Plymouth have taken a haircut on his price as it is.

Fair enough if he did that. A novelty for a manager, but maybe he doesn't need the money given the payoffs from other clubs :)

Don’t get me wrong, I like him and wanted us to sign him in that window that he was recalled (Broadhead arrived instead) IMO he is neither a better, or worse player than he was then, but is now in a team comfortably rock bottom of the league, having only 3 league goals to his name and is costing 5x the price, there’s simply no justification for the price tag, the deal reeks of desperation by Boro as the window draws to a close and Lath is on his way out of the door.

And better than Philogene last season and we just paid £20m for him. Although he is a couple of years younger.

Funny old world football.

Really? I think it sounds about right to me. Would have been higher last year but injury and Plymouth rather than his form has got him at a cheaper price. Young and proven wide forwards cost. He's done very well last few years.

I've been consistent in my not rating of him. There's a player there, but things have to be perfect for him to deliver. If not, he doesn't make an impact.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
