The support was brilliant - well done. Sang throughout the game and apart from initial YNWA they were louder than the home fans. '4.0 and you still don't sing'...... excellent!

Liverpool fans don’t tend to sing after YNWA.

I think it was loud in that comeback game against Barcelona. But generally nothing after YNWA. This Liverpool fans being great is a bit of a myth.

From memory they were pretty quiet at PR this season too. Not like the LFC fans of old, sadly.

Have to disagree.

Bizarre away atmosphere today. Very small pockets of singing but not the usual full section.

Very subdued. Reminded me of Norwich last year with the alleged 400 tickets for staff. Presumably everyone today had plenty of points and does plenty of aways so it was curious.

Pretty sure Liverpool were pumping fake noise in at times. One rousing song from the stand to the right was mega loud and even more impressive when you realised not one person had their mouth open.

It felt a bit like an old school open away end as the roof was so high and people couldn’t get songs going.

That said, I’ve seen tweets from Liverpool fans saying we were the best away fans there this season, not least because we sang about our team and not having a pop at them.

Disagree, we were crap. We tried to get so much going but very little enthusiasm around me. Only time people wanted to join in was to have a go at the “famous atmosphere” or call them tourists or scouse rats.

Bit more noise in the second half but comfortably the worst away end I’ve been in for some time. Felt like the Norwich game, lots of unfamiliar faces around and really flat.

Ipswich sounded good from a seat in the home end! Liverpool sounded alright I suppose.

I have to disagree on today being the worst away end in some time. First half was awful I agree but 2nd was much better. Arsenal was far worse than today.

Doesn’t help when there are blatant Liverpool fans in the away end - one near me wearing a Liverpool scarf (not a half and half) and filming the YNWA at the start with a phone that had a Mo Salah case.

The support today from that away was absolutely terrible.

Was the worse I’ve seen in 3 seasons, easily.

2500 videoed YNWA, sat in silence, then at 3-0 got a bit excited to sing as we were losing m.

Then started the football in a library bo11ocks.

It’s was awful

Tried to get a loud blue army going during YNWA but people looked at me like I was jeering during a minutes silence.

....literally waiting for us to get hammered and then singing just to prove what great fans we are.

Two weeks in a row.

Doing that is up there with "Every little thing's gonna be alright"

Pathetic.

People who pay their money and turn up can support the Town in whatever way they like. Sorry that they don’t do it in the way you would like them to, but who are you to tell them how to behave? Get over yourself, do we have to follow your orders? If they want to sing all game like I try to, great, if they don’t, so what. The bigger problem is the 27,000 home fans making less noise than the 3,000 that go away

Where I was, was really decent bar the doughnuts filming/singing YNWA - there was one excitable lady who seemed to be on her own away day.

Didn't have any tragedy chanting or stuff mentioned elsewhere either, but the thing Bloots said about the atmosphere chant when Burns went off was odd.

I was in the Main Stand today (long story) and I along with everyone around me was really impressed by the support for the team and the noise throughout the game that the Towns fans made and were saying that apart from a European night at Anfield that we where by far the best away support they had heard for years. I think when you are in the midst of it, we don't realise how good we are, Mckenna also made comment about the level of support yesterday. Comparing it to when we last played there over 20 year ago the Liverpool home support was awfully quiet aside when they sang YNWA but then our home support by and large is just as quiet.

I stood fairly central and near the back and am no expert on stadium acoustics, but it was very difficult to hear other areas of town fans apart from those very close around.

I thought the support was great and to keep singing like we did at 4-0 down doesn't happen at most places.

Bizarre moment when a couple of guys kept trying to get the mickma/terry song going. I thought I had gone back in a time machine!

Very impressed with Anfield. The stewards were excellent and very friendly and so many of them!

Extraordinary number of tourist fans for Liverpool.

It seems that some people just get a kick out of being negative about everything.

What I heard from our supporters sounded great, which is why I started the thread. As you say, why don't people just take the praise.

Do BA play a part on away days like they do at home games? In terms of playing the drum and getting songs going?

“Where I was, was really decent bar the doughnuts filming/singing YNWA”

YNWA is more than a Liverpool song, it’s become a football anthem, and both before and after they adopted it, it was a national favourite in English film and pop music, as well being a source of support for people going through hard times. Therefore understandable that people want to join in the singing of it, though it might seem weird or unacceptable to some away supporters.

Not all grounds allow the drum in they have to get game by game permission. Thought our support yesterday was great especially the pumkin songs
