I didn't know that about Zapers. And whilst I didn't agree with him on much if anything, my last few interactions with him were very friendly which goes to prove that there is always some common ground that one can find.

Likewise - strongly disagreed with Zapers' views on many things, but he was always polite & friendly towards me, never belittling or abusive - unlike some.

Sadly, he wasn't like that towards many other posters, hence getting banned.

His views didn't fit with the majority on here, and unfortunately once he knew that he tended to force them more and thus ended up looking like nothing more than a "troll" from the perspective of many on here.

Yer, I had a similar experience of him. We got off very much on the wrong foot. But our last few interactions were friendly enough and I don't remember him ever being abusive (back )
He was slowly growing to be 1 of my favourite anti immigration immigrants
The way I see it though is its Phils house and if he doesnt want the hassle it's time to take a break..

Having met Zapers in real life when I was in Thailand, he is a very nice chap. Not wishing to get political but i think political discussion on this forum is what leads to people getting banned.

Argh, yer know full well, if you were in Thailand and met up with Zapers it would be great craic and he would be as hospitable as they come.
I'd say you right about the politics part of it. Actually the last interaction I think I had with Zapers I was telling him how my best mate is the kinda Torie that would make Farage blush. But I wouldn't change anything about him and its probably half the reason it makes our friendship so amusing.
I think part of the problem with discussing politics online is you obviously can't see tone or facial expressions etc. Discussing the same issues in a bar you can see the other person smiling/grinning or whatever and know there just taking the p1ss.

I think loads of people are different on here than they are in real life, just the nature of internet forums.
In hindsight, I now just feel pathetically grubby for donning a virtual, board policing helmet and chucking my penny’s worth in with regards to zapers.

He was little else other than abusive.
As is often the case, those not directly on the receiving end of either abuse or polite friendliness from whatever poster, often simply don't see what that poster is saying to others (or absent-mindedly see, but it doesn't really register). No-one's fault, we all have busy lives & tend to skim over stuff that's less important to us personally.
Must admit I wasn't familiar / hadn't noticed neversaydie until maybe a week ago, but then I'm not very perceptive to usernames. Must be how my brain works I think, I read a lot of posts but don't necessarily remember who has posted or form opinions of those behind the name (unless glaringly obvious or long standing). There's a few I always get muddled.
Anyhoo, I did click on neversaydie's profile and saw their 1st post was Boxing day, and had 15 pages of posts since then which must be about 300. Definite troll.
