I'll play devil's advocate on this. And I'm a massive McKenna fan, so this is just to hear the thoughts of others.
I agree he improved players massively until we arrived in the PL. It was quite extraordinary what he achieved.
However, is it fair to say that it is less clear that he (and his team) have done the same with players who arrived this season? (Delap the obvious exception, obvs.) | | | |

If we had actually taken him off when he in injured his knee instead of leaving him on to make it 100% worse, that might have helped.
Watched him last night for Pompey.....what a shame. :( | |

I'm sure he has, it's just much, much harder to spot when you're scrapping at the bottom of the league. It's also far harder for us to judge how he's improved new signings because we'd never seen them previously. |  | | |

I think, as another poster - gsoly - says, in most cases it is very hard to spot.
