If people think this is bad 17:54 - Feb 1 with 2232 views | jasondozzell | Then they clearly didn't sit through 2009 - 2021. Get a grip! We're probably on par if not ahead considering the context of back to back promotions into the toughest league in the world. McKenna and the squad need and deserve support. They've earned it. It's hardly losing 5-3 to Lincoln or 7-1 to Posh. We go again.

If people think this is bad on 18:00 - Feb 1 with 1884 views | itfcsuth | Of course it’s not bad, we’ve been on a miracle ride for 2 years. I don’t think there is anything wrong with sitting back and acknowledging where we have made mistakes though, as always, you live and die by recruitment. It’s so so tough to get to the PL, and it is frustrating to have made such a mess of the recruitment, but it shouldn’t take away any unconditional support this season for the club, players and manager.

They're not a garbage team. Maybe in premier league terms they are, but so are we in those terms. There was always a possibility this result would happen.
If people think this is bad on 18:02 - Feb 1 with 1845 views | Cheltenham_Blue | People are allowed to be annoyed at losing to a side competing with Derby for the Premier League's lowest ever points total, at home, with a near full strength team. We were all there in 2009-2021, you aren't special.

Yeah I think the balance between new players needed at this level, keeping the team identity and integrating players without disrupting relationships was always going to be so so hard. And that's even before you consider that we had to do 2 or 3 years of recruitment in one window because of the fast rise. But we've sat through far worse than this. We've still got a chance of staying up. We didn't have that in March 2019.

In the context of this season, they the worst team we’ll come up against.

Of course we can be annoyed. It is annoying. But the odds were that we were going b to be the team with the lowest ever points total. We're not. I don't think people realise how much we've had to do to avoid that. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
If people think this is bad on 18:06 - Feb 1 with 1776 views | Blue_Heath | I did sit through it but although some money spent initially we have spent around £120m to go backwards. We took 6 points against Southampton last year and 1 this. Sorry but losing to a team who have won 1 game in 36 previous premier league matches is exactly like losing to Lincoln.
If people think this is bad on 18:06 - Feb 1 with 1772 views | SaffronWaldenBlues | It’s been our worst performance this season and we turned up looking like we were going to lose, supporters have a right to be unhappy with it. Ipswich doesn’t get a lot of cracks at the top flight, in fact just 6 seasons since the mid 80s. We know how hard it will be to get back here. Looking at players who are playing to pattern, no urgency or inventiveness without the drive or passion of previous seasons is very demoralising for the support. As we knew we were as good as up during this fixture last season, we knew we were down today. Sure it’s the top flight, and yes the promotions were great but if we get relegated and end up back in the mire that shine will wear off pretty quickly.

If people think this is bad on 18:10 - Feb 1 with 1695 views | Mullet | It’s a lovely sentiment but it’s really not a good faith argument, or particularly relevant. We are in the Prem spending big money to bridge the gap and coming up short against one of the worst teams to ever be at this level. Let alone the fact that McKenna got done by a bloke who looks like he’s happiest rifling through boxes of vinyl and smoking roll ups, rather than be a top flight football manager.

We're one win away from 17th. I just don't agree there's no urgency or passion. Try telling that to Delap and Cajuste and O'Shea after shift they put in. We are in a difficult spot. It was a miracle to be here. We could have had two or three play off seasons in the champ and it would have been seen as really promising building. We can still stay up.
If people think this is bad on 18:15 - Feb 1 with 1613 views | ITFCSG | FFs back-to-back promotions are now history. If we go down there is no guarantee we'd go straight back up - for every Burnley, Fulham, Newcastle there are many more examples otherwise - just ask Cardiff, Watford, Boro, WBA, Hull etc. If we get stuck again in Champ mid-table mediocrity would you still be talking about how great McK was and our back-to-back promotions? Anyone at the budgies, Watford or Saints still harping on their back-to-back promotions?
If people think this is bad on 18:16 - Feb 1 with 1587 views | ITFC_Cotton | I attended both of these games and thought today was woeful. So Burley wasn't a great manager then? 2000 team not talked about because we went down? He's the best manager we've had for years and years and if we went down it wouldn't change that.

It’s mathematically possible but it’s written all over them, they’re consigned to it. We’ve lost the fight in our heads.

Because we've been through worst times we can't be annoyed we failed to beat the worst team in the league? So the people from the 70s/80s can moab all the time because we aren't 2nd in the league and competing in Europe?

Yes, but that doesn't absolve him from some of the horror signings like Muric Mk.1 Sereni and duds like Finidi George right? Plus Sheepshanks and going into administration, are they not to blame at least in part? We are seeing the same thing occur right now with McK, so why should McK and MA be immune to criticism?

We are currently 4 points off Wolves due to an inferior goal difference. Wolves have created more chance in the first half against Villa than we did against Saints all game and that is why we are going down. No shame in it, totally expected but would like to see more fight from us.
If people think this is bad on 18:28 - Feb 1 with 1336 views | hunty21 | It's the performance and lack of togetherness too much dribbling instead of passing out wide quickly or the full back overlap causing chaos too many individual and there's a number of games where if you don't win you atleast draw which we don't seem to do , biggest criticism is lack of subs brought on earlier
If people think this is bad on 22:30 - Feb 1 with 1095 views | petieboy2011 | I think the concern is that if we cant beat one of the worst sides in Premier League history, on our own patch, then where are we going to pick up the wins we need to stay in the Premier League?! We are also the victim of our own recent success in that we won so many games over the last 2 seasons, so to get so many defeats is a bit of a culture shock, especially to those with blue tinted glasses on. Thanks for reminding me of the 7-1 defeat to Posh by the way.....Lee Martin had a stinker!

Yeah, was a terrible day that. Two sending offs if I remember correctly? Martin and Tommy Smith? I agree with your culture shock point. But I think KM did his best to try and educate fans about how much of a step up this was for a club that was coming from back to back promotions and still putting in place infrastructure that had been neglected over the past 20 years. I just think people throwing their toys out of the pram have no perspective or understanding of what the club has been through and what is going through. Suspect some only turned back up when we started winning again!
