How do we stay up? 11:47 - Feb 2 with 3777 views | Jrm_72 | Thought on this frosty Sunday (both literal and figurative) we might engage the hive mind on this question. Given the 'buy different players' lever is probably now done, we have our 25 till May. What do we change as a team using the available resources, to keep us up? Different formation? Different tactics? changing players positions? What do you think our next play is?
How do we stay up? on 11:49 - Feb 2 with 3205 views | MK1 | Win more games. Play 3 in midfield and a straight 3 up top. Let Delap, Hutchinson and Philogene have free reign on what they do. Let them play with freedom.

Think this is probably about where I have been thinking. Back four the same Phillips and Morsy sat in front Cajuste sat ahead of them Enciso and Szmodics (Broady for now) ahead of that Delap up top El Tel Christmas Tree! (This is probably pipedream in AM as makes us really narrow and congested)
How do we stay up? on 12:43 - Feb 2 with 3038 views | Garv | Sadly I think it's an simple as the players not being individually quite good enough, but you're right we can't just keep buying better ones - for starters the market we're buying in won't really allow it. Enciso on loan clearly is a good move though, he should improve our chances of survival. We're a good 'team'. We have the best coach we could hope for as a club of our size, we're incredibly well drilled, we're organized and have defined patterns of play. But we don't score the half chances that other teams do and we don't create enough clear chances to 'guarantee' goals. We also don't score when we're on top of teams often enough. We had two spells yesterday either side of half time when we were well on top, and the crowd was up, but we just couldn't make it count. One yesterday that comes to mind is Hutchinson cutting in from the right in the first half and shooting straight down Ramsdale's throat. Better players will send chances like that hard and low into the far corner. Add in the odd goalkeeping error and a midfield that is prone to getting over run and tired late in games, and we're always likely to concede.

How do we stay up? on 13:01 - Feb 2 with 2994 views | Ryorry | Gotta bring in another keeper, even if only due to the injury situation. Start Burgess regularly. Give Hirst at least 30+ minutes (and I feel he'd be great with Enciso). Rotate Morsy. KM prepared to mix it up more & make subs earlier if necessary.

Who is this "other keeper" we are going to get? A season saving premier league hardened keeper with literally hours left of the transfer window and probably no budget to spend. You have some names in mind?

How do we stay up? on 13:20 - Feb 2 with 2881 views | Bramidan | I think it’s time for KM to accept that playing it tight,in the hope of nicking a goal and if we lose keeping the score down, has now passed its sell by date. In order to win games we need to play on the front foot, passing it sideways and backwards in our own half is not going to get us points. Possession stats are only relevant if we score goals. A change is needed before we run out games. Let’s just give it a go. We can’t just rely on Delap let’s have our attackers running at pace at defences. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

How do we stay up? on 13:33 - Feb 2 with 2696 views | TheBoyBlue | I think the main thing from things we can do something about is decision making. We can't suddenly make our players more physical and we can't really do much in the short term about our finishing. For all that I can't fathom how professional footballers miss some of the chances we miss, they're obviously not doing it on purpose, it's just down to a lack of confidence and/or ability. Similarly with Muric and his mistakes, with pretty much the only option left there is that we give Slicker a go. As others have said, he surely can't do much worse. There is also no lack of effort, you can see that. They're all giving 100%. I guess we can try and look more closely at how we prepare for games like yesterday. We've shown against some of the bigger teams how well we can play, but when we come up against teams in winnable matches like Southampton, Everton, Leicester, etc, we just don't seem to be able to match that. But yes, most obviously for me is the decision making. Too many times we had passing options open, players in space and really good positions, others like Delap and Broadhead making runs down the middle and we just hold onto the ball and then lose it. Enciso and Hutchinson were the main culprits but not the only ones by any means. There were some potentially big chances lost because of that yesterday and throughout the season. Our conversion rate, shots into goals, is better than Man Utd and identical to Brighton & Bournemouth. While below Premier League average it isn’t at an unacceptable level. Leicester have a better rate and Wolves are in the top three. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/chancenverwertung/wettbewerb/GB1 In recent performances you could reach the conclusion that, if anything, we are taking pot shots from outside the area instead of passing to players who are better placed( in the area). We also don’t carry the ball into the area enough, hence we get awarded few penalties. We need to recapture the fighting spirit that got us into this league. Look at the difference between the way our home game against Southampton ended this season compared with last. Those last ten minutes, from Southampton’s goal to final whistle were a world away from last seasons game.

In the meantime, enjoy the fact we have made it to the best league in the world and we are talking about staying in it rather than how beating second bottom has still left us 11 points from safety and we are embarrassing ourselves. In all honesty, would anyone have been surprised if we were in Southampton's position? Why should we be in Spurs, Everton or Man Utd's instead?

Of course I don't, I'm not a professional football scout or employed by the ITFC recruitment team. And if I were, I don't think I'd be limiting myself to "A season saving premier league hardened keeper".

The front three or four really need to be less greedy in possession and pick a pass when a team mate is in a better position
