Has anyone seen Mark Ashton? on 10:04 - Feb 3 with 4676 views | The_Flashing_Smile | What do you want from him exactly? It would be pretty odd to be front and centre when we're doing badly. And also, you realise we're at the end of a transfer window? I imagine he's pretty busy behind the scenes.

Has anyone seen Mark Ashton? on 10:09 - Feb 3 with 4557 views | itfc_statman | He does strike me as one of those CEO's who loves the limelight when things are going well, but perhaps doesn't want to face the media in negative situations. He's hardly uncommon in that respect though, pretty regular occurrence in football

He's already spoken about the possibility of going down, the fact that we're way ahead of schedule and if we were to be relegated, it has no impact on the long-term plan. None of this suggests that it's gone wrong, or there's a need to 'spin' the next chapter. It's already well publicised, and if people don't get this, they've not been listening. It seems that so many people really don't understand what the club and Gamechanger are working on. The club's expectation was not to be in the EPL this year, and they are realistic about the challenges with getting promoted so soon. Their expectations are grounded - it's some of the fans that are getting ahead of themselves, and had expectations that were too high this season. We're NOT relegated yet. If we do get relegated, we're still on track and focus on coming backup. If we stay up, we're still ahead of schedule, and need to take advantage of that.
The Delap deal is complicated…. on 10:16 - Feb 3 with 4421 views | Bloots | ….with both Manchester clubs trying, plus Chelsea. The buy-back clause gives City the chance to sell him on at a profit as well, it’s a minefield! Hopefully he’s busy trying to get us the best deal possible.

That is a perfectly fair point. Accountability means taking the flak when things go badly as well as the plaudits when they go well, and he's certainly visible when we do well. But criticising him right now, when we've signed several players (for good or for bad) in the last few weeks is a little unfair. He's been entitled to be a little busy for smiling at the cameras. Having said all that, nobody forced him to become Chairman as well as CEO, and in my view that was a massive mistake. Even if it was not a massive mistake, it unquestionably increases the level of accountability that he has taken upon himself. I rather suspect, like with most people, Ashton is not as godly as he was painted as being when we were succeeding, and he will not be quite as bad as many will paint him if things carry on on the same trajectory as we are currently on.

Has anyone seen Mark Ashton? on 10:20 - Feb 3 with 4339 views | nodge_blue | what do you want him to say? We are in a tough spot. Need to keep the faith. I believe in the manager, that wont change. Whatever happens need the ownership stay committed and knew it was a long term project. Everything goes on as normal. Need to see the new players bed in and what we can do with the remaining games. that's pretty much it.....job done.

Apart from hire the brightest coach in football, help get us promoted from League One, help get us promoted from the Championship, revitalize the club and stadium, forge new links with the community, bring the women's teams on leaps and bounds, ensure that every player coming into the club is of great character and support the manager with about £150m in the Premier League transfer windows.

Although this particular specimen was calling for McKenna to go in 2023 - 100% we were never going to go up with him in charge apparently...

Never said he's doing a bad job, he's arguably been more important than McKenna - but you can't tell me his media appearances are consistent regardless of how we are getting on? Also, remember when we beat Lincoln under Cook and he ran along the front of the away end high fiving everyone - lol
