We'll do well to.... on 20:03 - Feb 23 with 3369 views | Bloots | ....hold on to O'Shea and Axel. Plus I wouldn't be surprised (or disappointed) to see Morsy leave. Broadhead might be keen on a move too.

Very strong squad for next season. on 20:06 - Feb 23 with 3348 views | WickhamsLeftBoot | Has Leif done enough this season to warrant bids in the summer? Delap, yes, but I reckon Leif will be here next season.
Very strong squad for next season. on 20:06 - Feb 23 with 3336 views | trent_blue | Wonder if it may be easier to shift Walton than muric, can’t see us recouping much of the 8mil spent - maybe a loan suits all parties and we go with your line up. Axel is off the rumours are, so would need to be Clarke & a new signing. Also don’t think anyone will pay the 20mil+ required to sign Leif from us. Same with Hutchinson, hasn’t done enough to justify a transfer to another prem club imo
Very strong squad for next season. on 20:08 - Feb 23 with 3315 views | pointofblue | Central midfield and Delap's replacement are the key issues. I think O'Shea might be sold too.

Very strong squad for next season. on 20:09 - Feb 23 with 3303 views | muhrensleftfoot | Might have to give Muric away as unlikely to recoup our original investment. I’d add Harry Clarke, Cam Humphries, and Ali Al Hamedi to the squad next season as all good Championship quality. Be sad to inevitably lose Davis, Hutch & Delap, but hopefully at great profit.
Very strong squad for next season. on 20:15 - Feb 23 with 3242 views | DavoIPB | That is not a strong squad. Morsy and luongo too old now. We basically need a whole new midfield. Attacking wise we need a new striker as delap will be gone and Hirst is always injured. Philogene, szmodic and hutch are currently good for the championship, we need a new right back maybe two and at least three midfielders. It's going to be significant drop in quality to what we have now.

I’d be amazed if Hutch and Philogene are in the Championship next year. They’re both on a PL track. Szmodics maybe, but someone may take a punt on him if we’re relegated.

I think Philogene will stay unless he suddenly finds his footing over the rest of the season. The question is if one of the promoted teams will take a gamble on Szmodics as he hasn't really had a chance to prove himself. Agreed on Hutchinson.

The only way they're getting sold is for more money than we bought them for. Can see someone maybe coming in for Hutch at 25/30M but no chance we get more than what we paid for Philogene based on the evidence so far.

I think Leif could be an option for Palace at LWB. Not sure he's proved he's defensively strong enough to play out and out LB for anyone.

O'Shea has proved he's good enough so definitely if an established club comes in for him. The only thing that maybe makes me think he won't be keen on another move is the fact that he's moved both of the last two summers and he's got a pretty young family.

They have Munoz as their RB/RWB who’s their attacking threat, which would leave Leif as purely LB. Don’t think he’d get a sniff in over Tyrick Mitchell tbh.

I think Szmodics has had enough games to prove himself. I like him because he's got a bit of personality, gives 100% and has a football brain...a bit like Chaplin actually. But I don't think he's necessarily mobile or quick enough to thrive at PL level. What's on his side mainly obviously is his ability to poach goals, but he does he do that often enough to make up for his limitations? He hasn't scored a home goal which is disappointing, he gets lots of half chances around the edge of the box but he rarely looked threatening to me.. Obviously you wouldn't want him to leave for a minute however because he'll always score a good amount the level below.

Do you think taylor would be ready to finally take that midfield spot... Was deemed to be on for big things. But kind of been stuck as just a back up. Now with champ games behind him and some prem games.. wonder if he might make a champ spot his own.

My biggest issue is how, slightly through necessity, we've never played Szmodics in his preferred position. Or not for a long run of matches. Before his injury it felt like we were playing him on the left more than as a ten. It's not his preferred position.

Very strong squad for next season. on 22:02 - Feb 23 with 2496 views | Clutch | I think Mass will retire or if he wants to go back to Aus, maybe do that. O'Shea will be our captain I think, as don't think Morsy will play a great deal. Delap definitely sold, maybe Hutchinson, maybe Davis. Then yeah one of the keepers to move on, maybe both Walton and Muric, permanent and loan in that order. Everyone seems to say Tuanzebe will move on, dunno why, people won't be fighting over him in the Premier league. Unless he wants to move back up north?

Not keen on talking up relegation , until it is unavoidable, but no one has considered we might want to keep hold of of players and do what Leeds did look to loan to other EPL teams. Think players might be up for that option.

It Is for sure a strong squad. Midfield would need a rejig. Would need another striker in as well. But the GK is a top end champ keeper. Defence is top end championship defenders. Attack is insanely loaded. Clarke is a championship cheat code. Szmodics Philogene Omari Chaplin Broadhead all top end champ players. Hirst is a top end champ striker but as you mention has fitness issues so would need a good backup. Realistically that team is 3 or 4 signings away from being a team that should be EASILY in the top 2.

This kind of complacency going into a Championship campaign makes me very uneasy.

Very strong squad for next season. on 07:51 - Feb 24 with 1677 views | TractorFrog | I think if McKenna stays, we keep Davis and Hutchinson. If he leaves (and it would have to be a very good offer for that to happen), he will sign Davis and Hutchinson. Realistically, we will need to sign two CMs, and a new ST to replace Delap, Cajuste, Phillips, but if we get enough money from Delap for those to be good signings then I would feel very confident for next year. Don’t forget that this team won promotion without Palmer, Greaves, O’Shea, Szmodics, Clarke and Philogene. The only players from the last championship winning team who might not be at the same level now are Morsy and Luongo, but the Delap money should be sufficient for decent replacements and both will still be very much capable backups. O’Shea might leave but Woolfenden has already shown he is fine as replacement so we could spend less on a new CB. If Tuanzebe leaves then we need a new RB as I see Harry Clarke more as a sub when we are chasing a game then a starting RB, although Sheffield United are playing him and they are second. If Davis leaves then we need a LB, but as I said I think McKenna will stay and want to hold onto him and Hutchinson. I also think we are really missing a RW/RWB at the moment but Ogbene should be back for next season, followed soon after by Burns.
| They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all! | Poll: | Who should start in CM with Cajuste? |

What complacency lol. It isn't complacent to point out that we have a plethora of players who have already excelled in the championship. Unless you disagree ? As I said it would need a few additions, but whatever happens in the summer we are going to have a squad, the money, Parachute payments that should have us competing for the title.

I did put +2 in midfield. Morsy & Luongo are absolutely fine for the Championship, but I would like to see Taylor and 1 other start. It won't be that big a drop off, if anything, it will be better. Right back we have Johnson and Axel (if he signs a new deal) with H.Clarke an option also. We are in a strong starting position for the Championship.
