The fact that Southampton and Leicester have been as bad, or indeed worse than us, gives me a tiny amount of comfort this season. Especially alongside the efforts of the bottom 3 last season.
The point being that it's not simply the case that we're crap, but that the promoted clubs face a huge challenge to merely be competitive in this division. We're not an outlier here, a team hopelessly out its depth whilst the other promoted teams cope fine.
None of that makes this season any more enjoyable, but equally I can't get too worked up about the reality we're all seeing play out.
Let's just get this season over with and then have a go at trying to get back and have another try in this league. [Post edited 28 Feb 9:50]

Seriously? Back to back promotions are extremely rare and harder than ever, and you think there will be two in one season? Plymouth finished above us and Sheffield W only just below - one is in the relegation zone and the other just about stabilised mid table in their second season. Every player we have brought in over the last year is an upgrade over last season (perhaps a keeper excepted, maybe a like for like there) and assuming we don’t lose more than a couple of our first xi (which we all expect), that we sign a new midfield (but Morsy fine to start with) then a full preseason and these players will hit the ground running and should be too good for most sides. |  | | |

I think the one difference people are noticing is that Leicester seem to have very little fight left, they were playing yesterday like it was a nothing game rather than a relegation fight. Our players may be falling short performance wise but I think we can see they still have the fight in them. |  |

Not sure our second half performance at Utd really showed any more fight than the Leicester team did. That was the reason for my anger for the following 2 days. I have calmed now but we can't sugar coat that second half performance, it was about as abject as it comes.
I still think we have the best chance out of us and Leicester of turning the ship around as I don't believe they have the quality we possess now. Our problem seems to be more form/belief based, rather than quality. I do struggle to see us escaping now though as Wolves have too much of a head start, we would need them to go on the same kind of run as Leicester have been on until the end of the season now.
