Just in case anyone has missed our rivals very important last 2 results both at home a 1-1 draw with relegation threatened Oxford after being 1 up and last night a 2-3 defeat to Sheffield Wed after being 2 up.
Throughout the season I have insisted that they will be there or thereabouts. Sometimes it is lovely to be proven wrong.
They’re pretty much where I thought they’d be. Changes in ownership, Delia retired to polish her empty beer can, an unproven manager - from the very little I’ve seen of them they look a team in a ghastly comedy kit with two or three good players and not a lot else.
Not been on the Oinkun in a while, but I’m guessing the mood isn’t entirely happy.

they've generally got young players in, might take them a few years to mature suspect they will be stronger next season for it.

Hopefully not as they are due a down period.
There are more than a few shades of Farke's first season for those looking carefully enough – and we know what happened after that. Probably not worth anyone celebrating their perceived demise just yet as that's gone badly before.

A bit like a Norwich Lad with his grandma, mum., sister, auntie, uncle Nigel ... lets not get premature

I think gloating over them at the moment isn’t a good look. We know that we should be in a better position than them at the start of next season but they could still hurt us, as they have in the past when we expected to roll them over.
Let’s wait until we beat them and that “16 years” rubbish evaporates.
Windass' goal last night made some of our recent attempts at clearing the ball from set pieces look exemplary - the ball was bouncing around their box for a full 15 seconds after a free kick before it went in.

I’ve felt they are mid table are best all season. Take Sargent out of that team, and they have little else. Hopefully they’ll lose him in the summer too.
Their owner, is he actually very wealthy, or just a pretend multi $ investor, anyone know?

I'm not sure I see many parallels. The backbone of this Norwich side under Thorup just isn't there like it was for Farke.
If we think our side isn't athletic enough for the Premier League, Norwich's side look really powder puff even for the Championship. I watched both the Oxford game and last night (for a laugh) and they were far too easily roughed up. Even their experienced heads like Duffy are easily dragged around by quick forwards.
I like Sargent and he'll move on to better things, although his injury record is a bit iffy. Sainz is a one-trick pony and will probably go back to Spain this summer. That leaves them with precious little in the way of flair/talent.
Too early - they're only 7 points off 6th, albeit with plenty of traffic. None of the chasing teams are putting the 5th and 6th spot to bed , so a club who can win 2 or 3 in a row will still be a contender. It's amazing that they've squandered so many points that they still can challenge, but you can say the same about all those clubs.

i've seen a few of their goals that they have scored this year and they have been good flowing football.
Obviously that's a tiny subset and there's more to it in the Championship than playing nice football at times, but they have recruited from abroad and those guys need a season or 2 to adjust.
I've not seen enough of them to make a judgement tbh, but if they sell Sainz and Sargent in the summer that will give them the means to bring in a few again.

They do have a team good enough for the Playoff range but a manager who's still finding his feet in the Championship. The issue they have is that there is a cloud of negativity around the club, after years of success in the Championship, they are now to be in the same camp as about 12 of the other contending teams in that league, with diminishing resources. Rivalry aside I do expect them to get their act together in the next couple of seasons while the board changes and the new investment starts to have an effect.
Norwich had it all a few seasons back, a great manager, good players, played a good brand of football and were on the verge. However, their board's total lack of ambition to be anything other than yoyoers killed them off. I see some of our fans excited to be a yoyo club, whereas I can't think of anything worse.

This is what makes Championship games so exciting (in general) to watch and make it such a competitive and great league in general.

Pinball Wizard springs to mind for that second goal lol.
F me! That's appalling, I mean truly appalling defending/goalkeeping for all three Wendy goals. To call that Sunday league defending is to insult Sunday league football.
My gods, they're bad! If we are playing them next season (which I still don't think we will be ), we'll rip the buggars to pieces.
As long as they don't scrape the play offs I really don't care.
They've retained some good players so should be there or thereabouts next season also (unless they go on a selling spree).
If they decline, think it'll be really gradual.
I don't know, they look like a team we were in the last throws of Mick, if they lose Sargent and Sainz (which they probably will) then there are bare bones left of a rotting carcass.
