Check point Charlie museum. East Berlin museum (may not be called that but all about life under soviets). Spy museum. Main park for a walk up to brandenburg gates. Boat trip around the rivers.
Holocaust memorial and museum is very good there, not far from the Brandenburg gate. In that general area you can also book tickets to go up the Bundestag building which has a glass dome roof and has good views.
I’ve been to Berlin about 5 times and don’t remember anything I had to eat unfortunately.
Been a a couple of times and it's always an amazing evening.
Others things I've done that are worth looking into are going to Wannsee for a tour, a trip to Sachsenhausen or wander around Potsdam. These are all kind of out of town so need some planning.

We saw the Holocaust memorial in the middle of winter after about a foot of snow. It was a really odd experience as people were having fun throwing snowballs within the memorial itself. I couldn't quite internally figure out if that was okay or not; on one hand it's quite a sombre place, but then people were enjoying life and there was lots of laughter. Really odd experience.
We went up the TV tower in Alexanderplatz which was really cool.
There's was a really cool Science museum that has lots of interactive things that's good for an hour or two.

It's called the DDR museum and agree definitely worth a visit especially if you're of an age where you remember the wall coming down. We also enjoyed the spy museum and checkpoint charlie too and as RobMonk said the TV tower in Alexanderplatz was good. In fact nearly everywhere we visited in Berlin was good - we did the hop on hop off bus and saw most of the sights.
Unless you're absolutely desperate to see the city from above, avoid the Fernsehturm. Prices have increased massively in recent years, and it's now a complete rip-off.
Similarly, avoid the DDR Museum on Unter den Linden - it's a complete and utter tourist trap. If you want to explore the DDR side of things, there's a fantastic state-run museum at the Kulturbrauerei (U-Bhf Eberswalder Straße on the U2) called 'Alltag in der DDR' which is free and is far and away the better collection.

Aw we thought the TV tower was expensive when we went about 5 years ago so if it's increased massively it'd probably be out of our price range now. We did enjoy the DDR museum and from memory it was pretty cheap to get into. Have noted your recommended Alltag in der DDR for our next visit, find all things 'east' fascinating.
The Berlin Wall Memorial is good. You can wander around at ground level next to the wall and then climb a tower that gives you an overview of the section.
The Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag are impressive, but I wouldn’t waste too much time on Checkpoint Charlie. The location is the same but it’s now full of fast food restaurants and the actual checkpoint is not even the real one any more.
The memorial to the murdered Jews is very powerful. You kind of descend into darkness and then emerge into light. Not everyone gets it but it is quite moving.
Football wise…the Olympiastadion is worth a visit even for a tour. Very historic. And if Hertha are at home you’ll get a ticket. You won’t get a ticket for Union Berlin who play in Köpenick but there are other lower league teams worth visiting.

I don't mind a bit of touristy when Im a tourist. It was a bit of fun to see guys in American and soviet uniforms. Plus I got the chance to sing to myself the only song I know that references check point Charlie. A teenage favourite.
If you want to visit the Reichstag (and I recommend it), book yourself a breakfast at the restaurant at the top. Not only is this a nice way to start the day with great views, it'll also mean you skip the queues at the bottom to get into the Reichstag.
Went in December. The TV Tower is worth doing although it's a bit pricey. The spy museum was our favourite. We spent almost a whole day at the zoo, which wasn't in our original plans, but it was fantastic. Catch the train in from the airport, the transport system is very good. Trams, underground and rail links all over the city. Beer here; although they don't speak English and are typically Teutonic. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g187323-d2015065-Reviews-Berline Found some really nice little back street bars and some very big beer halls.. But it wasn't all about beer, honest. Art museum alte-nationalgalerie was OK on Museum Island

If you have never watched them, then get in the mood before you go by watching the Deutschland 83/86/89 series on Channel 4, or the films "Goodbye, Lenin" and "The Balloon".
Went for the football last summer albeit briefly, hadn’t been for about 15 years prior. It was great, top city. Depends what you like really but very easy to get around and something for everyone.
Lovely un crowded city. On day one we joined a small group tour on rental bikes, which meant we got around to see more than might otherwise have been possible. We then settled to spend a little longer at selected sights on days two and three.
