Mrs Vance was going on her own to love bomb them but now, by popular demand, she will follow her husband around while he does laps of a US army base. He can't even berate anyone because no-one wants to talk to either of them. Nice bit of karma.
Apparently American officials went from house to house trying to find someone who would speak to her and were met with 100% failure.

I’m not sure VPs often accede. I might be wrong though.
About 14 or 15 VPs have gone on to be president in their own right, although 4 of those were down to the incumbent president being assassinated and at least another 3 as the president died (but not through assassination). Bonkers really.

They want to steal somebody else’s country like all totalitarian countries do. The people of Greenland? They’re nothing. 50k nobodies.
Trump and his deputy ghastly bit of scum talk about US security. It has nothing whatsoever to do with that. Everyone knows it so why not just say it. Greenland is a place with potential stuff to dig out of the ground.
Right and wrong? Sovereignty? They’re not interested any of that old rubbish. Roared on by the majority of Americans they’re building an Empire!! - and extorting every country they can. Including this one.
They won’t stop and neither will his best mate in Moscow.

Is there really an appetite inside the USA for empire building?

I really do hope someone soon decides to lay claim to some part of US territory.

Well, we've heard it straight from the horse's arse's mouth that the act of fighting for territory like Russia have in Ukraine means you should be entitled to it.
Alaska was also once Russia's. Have at it, Vlad, and let's see what your cheerleader does then.

Watching the BBC1 10pm News on this tonight was indistinguishable from watching the old Friday night BBC1 satire programmes on the week's news.
Was actually laughing at the demented loons - sorry, I mean POTUS & his vice - literally telling the world of their intention to carry out one of the biggest heists the world has ever seen, in plain sight, for supposed 'reasons' that a 12-year old would find ridiculous..
If it were a new work of fiction, it'd go straight into editors' slush piles as too far-fetched to be credible.
Am I missing something? It looks a lot like an attempt at conquest in plain sight. When this initially broke a few weeks ago, I assumed it was usually Trump ramblings, but it’s starting to look like they’re serious.

Its the same approach as Putin.
Repeatedly claim its what the people want. Then when you move in, claim you are protecting them and holda "referendum" at gunpoint.
Trump is looking to make the US a global power in the same way as Russia used to be (and is working towards) and China are.
It is a disgrace that our Government are not challenging this in the strongest possible terms. He is threatening our friends and neighbours.

Yeah, it seems a similar approach. And with Trump giving Putin every he seems to want, and effectively legitimising Russia’s invasion, it make you wonder where this will end up. Putin’s conquest is part of his soviet era wet dream, Trump’s seems all about resources. Are we seeing the start of the resource wars that people have warned about for pretty much as long as I can remember?

Why do you think Putin has recently come out and indicated that he would not take issue with Trump taking Greenland?
Let's also not forget that Musk is sitting behind Trump and wants rare earth minerals for his businesses. And Trump is actually ignorant enough to think "rare earth" means rare, and therefore valuable.

I think we should. It’s still a colony as far as I’m concerned and we should have it back. How dare they rebel? The map of 1775 says that the 13 states and all the unexplored beyond was ours. Ok, so US sovereignty was recognised by the Paris treaty in 1783 but so what? Ukraine sovereignty was recognised and guaranteed by U.K. US and Russia and look what happened to that?
Just because they were asked to pay King George a little bit of tax money towards giving them protection, didn’t give them the right to start a war. We should have compo too and reparation costs for the war of 1812 - which America lost. Badly.
We have as much right to claim America back as Putin has to claim Ukraine or anywhere else. Go on Starmer! You must be suffering like hell from all those splinters sitting on the fence! Go for it! Make U.K. great again and rename the Gulf of Mexico Gulf of Britain.
Sorted.

Paris Treaty? We aren't having those Europeans tell us who owns what! Men died fighting to keep the US British. They deserve the territory! Everyone knows it's right. Many of the big towns there are named after the UK too. They all want to be British.
It’s actually quite a shame that one of those households didn’t say yes to a visit. Pretending that you’d welcome them in so they’d have to leave the safety of an American airbase would then offer them up to all of the protests and people telling them to F##k off. I imagine someone telling them they’re happy for them to visit only for them to turn up and the person saying “I just wanted to tell you to f##k off to your face and so did all these other people who have lined the streets”

With regards to your last paragraph, agree 100%. Starmer should be much more confrontational on this. What the new empire builders are doing is an utter disgrace and should be called out. At the moment, hiding behind the sofa as KS is doing just won’t work.
Our allies will view us as weak and happy to see them under the bus as long as the U.K. escapes the worst of Trump’s wrath and the orange idiot will be viewing U.K. as weak and ripe for exploitation. It’s the worst of all worlds.
How can we move forward on defence and trade come to that while adapting this approach? I don’t see how we can. Make a decision Sir Kier, unless you want to go down in history as another Chamberlain or Baldwin.

Can we use the 'F' word yet?
When I posted the Niemoller quote about it a week or so back, the response was that it is universally recognised. I am not sure I agree that it is. Encouraging to see some protesting against it in the US, though.
