I liked him, I’m sure he could help pilot us back to the prem

Yes I think so, and much prefer him to Enciso.

I think that’s the heart ruling the head. Not sure that’s the type of player we need to bring in next season, considering who we now have on the books. He’s still got 2 years left on his contract as well.

If we lose a couple of our attacking midfielders over the summer then maybe.

No.

He can barely get a kick with Burnley, rarely started a game for us. He had some incredible moments but he really wasn't that good for us on balance.

Enciso is tremendously talented but very raw, his decision making is poor

Sarmiento was a decent alternative to Broadhead imho, obviously we do now have Clarke and Jaden though, which would make that seem less likely

Ogbene comes back and Burns as well

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Honestly, our priority should be to sign the best striker and central midfielder we can.
If we lose Sammy and Omari, then a 10 becomes important too, but we should get 30mil + for the pair.

The best in the league I would suggest, we have to buy top players

And have the budget for this now

The foundations of a good team are here, we just need to add that extra 5 - 10% to make us meet difficult to stop

I'd be surprised if we lost either frankly

Omari is going to cost £40 million+ and has very little goals or assists to make anyone want to test that out

Szmodics hasn't really started with us yet in all honesty, a promotion push probably suits him, I don't see a PL side rolling the dice with him given his injury record

We have Connor who is a top championship player, but need back up for his if we lose Omari and Sammy.

Chappers who it feels like has been on holiday for a season is going to be useful again

Szmodics really needs to stay fit and shoot us back up

We need either one or two strikers coming in, depending on whether we sell Al-Hamadi

I haven't looked at who is about but Kone and someone like Maja would be interesting

Sinclair Armstrong went to Brizzle and has done nothing but seemed the kind of wild wrecking ball, you wouldn't mind as a third choice

Possibly Burnley’s style doesn’t suit his game - they aren’t the most adventurous of teams.

I thought he wasn’t quite up to it, but it was a high bar to pass with Hutchinson taking off in the second half of the season. He doesn’t get in ahead of Broady, Chappers, Wes, Clarke (if they’re here)

We’ve got Harness to come back as well of course. I assume we’ll look to offload him, but that’s at the whim of the transfer market, interest, what happens with other players, etc.

I still can't believe we never signed him for this season.

Utterly remarkable IMHO, at least we spent well on a keeper though.

Quite bizarre baby!

Looked a better option than Clarke & Philogene have.

Had a bit of X factor Jeremy.

Would have been nice to see Sarmiento & Enciso together this, have that unpredictable flair.

His unpredictability could be helpful. I don't think even he knew what we was going to do next most of his time with us.

Clarke and Philogene are considerably better players than Sarmiento.

It really isn't close.

Sarmiento's stats in his time with us:

League: 5 starts, 15 sub appearances.

Goals: 3.

If he hadn't scored that goal against Southampton, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Yep, and think people forget when he started he was pretty ineffective, his best work came late on in the game when he was brought on.

However, can't see us dropping significant sums on him ( as an impact sub) as we are well stocked.

You do understand the Championship is a totally different division though? I loved Sarmiento here but you can't say a player who struggled to start here (and at Burnley) in the Championship is a better option than two of the best wingers/10s at that level last season.
