That's not far short of half. When you consider the jump we've had up from League 1, with many of those players who featured in League 1 still featuring now, I think that's pretty decent.

Yep and we've taken points from 11 of the 19 teams and there are still opportunities to take points from Brentford and West Ham. If we manage that, and it's not out of the question, it's something to build on. Yes, we're way short of points, but it would mean we've been pretty competitive against more than 2/3s of the Premier League sides.

Too many of those results were draws, though. Needed to hang on to some of those leads. Improve the squad depth and suffer fewer injuries next time around and I am confident we will be fine.
No it still sounds bad whether you call it that or 21 defeats from 35.
You can mitigate the bad stat with the jump from league one and the injuries we've had, and I would make that case myself, but its a bad stat and a bad look to the league table.

Down arrow from the OP, which is always a badge of honor when it comes to him, are you suggesting we needed some more losses Dolly? Lol
Weird bloke.
I've downarrowed you for the spirit of your post, because it's not in keeping with the spirit of the OP (looking on the positive). Shame I had to spell that out, I didn't think it would have been difficult to understand for most people.
You, and the others on here who'd rather look for the negatives, are the weird blokes.

Wait, we were in League 1 two years ago? Why has nobody mentioned this before?
It's a very very valid reason as to why we haven't been able to survive this season, but some of you seem to want to sweep it under the carpet, like you don't want to hear any excuses, which is very odd. It's context and it's massively relevant.

With that in mind, we are still going down and miles off 4th bottom though, yeah?
As others have said, 1 home win all season.
There is trying to be positive, then there’s this.
There’s no harm in looking at positives as well as negatives. Context and balance is important.
We all know what the table looks like and witnessed some dreadful results and performances, of course. Nobody is hiding from that. It’s easy to criticise and abuse and some take great pleasure from it. Not least some of the bedsheet brigade on here. But for me it’s all about not shying away from what we could have done better, learning and building from it and what went well.
I looked at the Southampton website almost everyone from the owners to the tea boy is getting slaughtered by those that can be bothered to comment. I don’t think their situation is anywhere near as bad as they think, given parachute payments, cumulative PL wealth, a PL structure, modern facilities and great yoof system. But heck if they want to wallow in it because the first team is cr@p this season that’s their lookout and all the better for us. Same with Leicester.
There are some good things that have happened here in the last year and of course since dementor Evens was prised out from under his rock and the club appears well structured now.
Any need to downvote any reply that doesn't match your view? The forum is split between footy posts and non footy posts, not between positive and negative threads (which is subjectove anyway) :)
My take on your spin is yep, it shows we have indeed competed in probably most of our games. Or rather, at least in parts of most of the games. And there is where we've not been good enough. We've too often lacked the physical (and possibly mental?) ability to compete for 90+ minutes. I just assumed we'd get better as the season wore on, when in fact we have not and if anything have lagged a bit... which (and again an assumption) may be down to conditioning re v few players with a few Prem seasons under their belt, but it can't be just that... basically we will need more 'specimens' if/when we get back up.
