We have very very ambitious owners. Cajuste if we can get him is exactly the sort of signing we need if we hope to get back up and stay up. Has shown he is premier league level player.
I expect if KM says 'we must get him' they will do all they can to. |
He does nothing most games apart from a few clever turns and nice touches. Goes missing for large part of games and not a ball winner. He has been part of a huge problem area on the pitch for us this season so why would we want to retain him for when we go up again. |  | | |

Wasn't the obligation to buy £12mil. It's not crazy money. I would imagine we could negotiate now we have haven't gone up. I think the harder thing is getting Cajuste to join.
Would like to have him but would really need to make sure we 100% understand the knee issue and whether it is likely to improve. Managing him in the champ Sat/Tuesday is a big problem. Fully fit and no knee issue he'd be amazing. knee issues rarely completely go away when they have been chronic like this season. |

He's a nice tidy player, but has never really dominated a game. Only got one goal. Morsy was head and shoulders above him yesterday, including the number of times he was able to turn and drive forward past people.

Don't worry - Cajuste will have more attractive options than a season in the Championship. Napoli have won Serie A so he could be a squad player at a CL club. He's done enough here for another PL club, or a decent European club, to want him as well. Aged 25, he might want a permanent home rather than another loan. | |

Agreed. I just don't get this obsession with his signing.
I'm not sure he's going to have many options higher up the pyramid which is why he may well end up here. |  |

Exactly this! Our 2 CMs are effectively DMs. He's not an orchestrator like Morsy and he's not defensive minded like Luongo and dare I say it, he's been a massive part of the issue of our CM being completely overrun most weeks. | |

You have no idea what his current physical state is - only our medical staff will know how he's progressed. He's put in a decent number of minutes in recent months, and when he's started he's been on for 80+ minutes. Given KmK's normal subs practice, that's pretty decent.

Many have lost far more through injury , so that is just cherry picking. Just take a look at minutes played in recent months.
So the answer is not a clear no, and certainly not compared to many others. Only O'Shea, Morsy, Davis, Delap, Hutchinson and Greaves played more, and his minutes have been on an upward trajectory in the 2nd half of the season. | | | |

2 yellow cards all season, in a role where you ought to be doing a fair bit of niggly fouling and breaking up play, sums up my concerns.
He's a lovely player to watch, but don't think he does the dirty side of the game well enough. Leicester's first goal last week was a prime example. Any other team would make the cynical foul on halfway, pick up the booking and regroup, but Cajuste allowed him to keep running. |  |

its one of those classic he's a good asset to have but I dont feel the Championship will suit his style of playing,and hes going to spend most games getting taken out unless we sign a combative midfielder to pair with him.
and I think people are reading too much in to the McKenna comment post game, because if you look at our squad, well who else could you have played, Jack Taylor ? Clarke ? our midfield is pretty sparse for options.
