Slicker is truly having a nightmare (n/t) on 21:50 - Jun 6 by PhilTWTD
He's rated very highly by both Town and Scotland and, from what I've seen, that was a very untypical display. Never recovered from the error on the first goal. He's come across as a strong character from what I've seen of him and hopefully he'll bounce back from this.
Scotland in general were dreadful, though, regardless of Slicker's errors! Also, where were people putting an arm round him? Seemed no leadership in the team at all.
That first goal wasnt even a HUGE error.
Bad pass, but none of his team mates helped after possession was lost and the finish was superb.

He must have been wearing heels when they measured him, as he isn’t that tall…..he’s just quite slight as well….looks like an U18 playing mens football at times
I think Henry Gray and Woody Williamson would make him look small even
He’s a lovely bloke and I really hope he succeeds here but having stood and chatted to him a few times he is no more than 6 foot, I’m 5’10” (and a half) and also in the GK union and he felt barely above me.

Surely Scotland must have some experienced GKs somewhere better than Slicker. He's 3rd or 4th choice for us. If we were forced to use him through injury, we'd be sh1tting ourselves. They've got a whole country to pick from.

Yeah, it wasn't great, but I think the media have gone overboard.
Same as when Richard Wright played his first game for England. Had a complete nightmare, panic and gave away a penalty, followed by a 2nd pen. Unfortunately ruined any chance he had of a long England career. That's the problem for GKs, mistakes always look worse.

Yep, if you see him next to the other GKs he is so much smaller - when I’ve spoken to Palmer compared to him it’s night and day. Like you I’d put him at 6ft, maybe 6ft 1 at a push but he’s not 6’3 and it shows

SAme here.
I read in the guardian that Slicker had passed the ball to an Iceland player for the first goal and assumed it would have been one of those short ones around the box, but it was actually a decent clearance that just fell to an Icelander just shy of halfway.
That second one was a scramble in the box, he was clearly and deliberatley impeded by the forward, good case for offside or a foul I'd say.
Should have done better for number three probably, but was not Alan Rough style crapness.

The 3rd one is really poor but the first one isn't particularly bad, he got punished with a brilliant finish. The second one is appalling defending. If an Icelandic player touched the ball then surely it would have been ruled out for offside with the player blocking Slicker, but it's hit about 3 Scottish players and gone in, really terrible defending.

He does not look 6ft 3 during warm ups compared to the others and we are not a team of giants by any stretch. Pretty good at the cross bar challenge thing he does.

Still youngish, and any GK can have one bad game. Even a really bad game.
However, his report card this season basically reads:
- club football: not trusted to do anything despite his club having a crisis in goal - international football: total nightmare when given the chance
You'd have to think that Town will be having a really long hard look at what to do with this position this summer. With Hladky, it looked like we had it sorted. This last season has been a calamity of the Sereni/Marshall order of magnitude.
Has he done enough to be considered part of the answer? On the evidence available, sadly he's done nothing at all. What's the point of a 3rd choice GK? To step up when there's a problem with the 1st and 2nd choices? Well, we had problems with them, and we didn't trust him. Neither was he sent out on loan. It is a baffler for me.
Part of me wants to trust Muric and see if he can turn out to be the quality keeper that we hoped he would be. Part of me thinks that we have to avoid any prospect of a problem like last season, and rip it all up and start again.

Second one just looks horribly messy. In his defence there were so many bodies in front of him but it looks like he dives over the top of the ball.

I was behind the goal when Slicker replaced Muric in the Bristol Rovers game and everyone around seemed to agree that he looked about a foot shorter than Muric (slightly exaggeration admittedly).

How tall is Steve Clarke? Slicker looks no more than an inch or two taller in that photo, even allowing for angles - and about half the width! But wouldn't Town have him doing more gym work & increasing his calorific intake if required?

Looking at this video, Slicker is no bigger then Greaves & Delap, who are both 6’1
