But he did well carrying an injury before with 4 goals. How can that be nothing?! I could understand if you only watched him in the Prem. He struggled (not the only one).
He's also just shown why he can be of value this half already.
Can we get better. Yes. And think we will sign one better. But we can save ourself several million as I think he's more than good cover in the champ in an attacking side. |

I think we’ll bring in 2 ahead of him and that will be that.
I’d wish him well, he’s got some raw physicality but I don’t think he’ll feature much this season. I wouldn’t be surprised if he drops to L1 or a much lower Championship team. |  | | |

It’s not a good match for the player or the club in current state though.
Being second striker would be v.worrying for us.
Being third striker would be bad for his career. I’d look to move him. |  | | |

Yes I think whether it is right for him is definitely a fair question to be asking. If we get a good profit Nd he gets to play somewhere week in and out then that's probably a good outcome for all.
For us as 3rd choice it's all good.
On balance we will probo let him go. Good decisions to have is probably the best thing you could say. |  |

Yeah, I just don’t want to be going to Birmingham with him as the first replacement on the bench for Hirst, seems possible but 6 weeks to go before it all shuts. Been a bit quiet on strikers in general but maybe that’s not a bad thing. [Post edited 19 Jul 19:16]

I don't think he as bad as many seem to think, and he has a knack of making things happen. McKenna must have seen some potential in him too, or he wouldn't have bought him when we were pressing for promotion from the Championship. [Post edited 19 Jul 19:45]

What sort of player do you think would fit the third striker role? |
Basically, a Championship hardened 34 year old who's happy to only start a few games a season, or a wonder kid plucked from the academy who needs the experience.
Given we don't have either of those, I'm coming round to the idea that we might actually be quite lucky to have Al Hamadi as a third choice. He's not my favourite player in the world, but he has been carrying injuries previously, and if he's fit now we might as well keep him as third choice, IF he's happy to play that role.
What we must avoid is going into the season with only Hirst and Al Hamadi, which as we already know will not end well. |  | | |

Kone on the basis the third will still play football this season in cup and sub appearances in 3 game weeks. The Millwall striker or similar as the second/first competing with Hirst.
If not someone more battle tested who’s happy with limited football.
Essentially with Hirsts record the third striker have a bit more of a higher ceiling or be more proven as may have to play more than we think. | | | |
