Southampton game 15:15 - Jul 22 with 5464 views | danchances22 | Saints fans on X aren’t happy, they’ve just announced pricing for their match at Portman Road and we are charging them £43 for adults. FOURTY three for adults! Crazy

Southampton game on 17:38 - Jul 22 by Danny_G | It’s £32.50 plus booking fees. So my ticket cost £36. As away clubs are also entitled to 5% of the VAT-exclusive sales proceeds, that’s nearly £5 they’ve got to add a ticket to a website and post it. I get that this may well be the fault of the previous regime for the contract they signed with SeatGeek, but it feels like a rip off. |
I'm sure Ashton said that OUR booking fees were a legacy of the Evans era and that they would be got rid of when the existing contract expired...... Long contract huh?

Southampton game on 18:55 - Jul 22 by Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | Maybe I am completely wrong on this then, I swear I remember PL tickets being up to GBP20.00 in the mid 1990s? Or am I just misremembering. It's probably just because I get ripped off for being a sports fan over here even if there is a difference in average wages and general cost of living. Just GBP40 for a game seems a very good deal, ha. |
Defo misremembering. Bizarre that we will be paying more to watch in many Championship grounds than we did at Old Traffird, Emirates etc.

It was only £30 because of the agreement. It also stopped any club wanted to give more than 3000 to away fans, as they were charging more to enter as Home fans. Remember Fulham, the neutral stand charges more than the away end. As a debate, should all tickets have a cap, Home and Away?

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or serious? Whoosh if sarcastic, but V1 and V2 are in the corner of the stand. 2000 allocation so the better seats will be reverting to town fans. [Post edited 22 Jul 20:25]

If I was an away fan at PR getting charged £43 I'd expect to be serenaded by Ed Sheeran whilst Fabio Wardley served me an endless supply of Portman Pies and crap lager (or cider as I'm not a snob). £43 is a disgrace for any game of football. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Southampton game on 20:41 - Jul 22 with 968 views | WestStanderLaLaLa | It’s an outrageous price. However our under 19 price of £14 is good. Brum away for me and my son is £55. The equivalent for saints against us is £57.

Southampton game on 16:55 - Jul 22 by Mark | Clubs should not charge fans so much money, especially when you think both teams get around £50m in parachute payments. What happened to the 'twenty is plenty' campaign? |
Dont forget we only get parachute payments for this season if we don't get promoted.

Yes but if we get promoted this season then do don't get any from what I have understood.

Southampton game on 07:33 - Jul 23 with 582 views | itfc_bucks | Again, maybe misremembering, but we normally have reciprocal agreement and if that's not reached because of one side or other, both parties charge whatever. Leeds were similarly outrageous last time we were down here.

We paid £40 and £47 at Norwich and Leeds respectively two seasons ago!

tbf people probably wouldn't pay that to see Oasis every Saturday and quite a few midweek evenings as well, so it's an odd comparison.
Southampton game on 10:34 - Jul 23 with 395 views | football | I could very well be wrong here, but don’t we need to charge the tickets at the same price as similar seats to the home fans, now we are not PL? The away seats are adjacent to some of the most expensive home seats. I thought I had seen that somewhere

We get them this season regardless. We just won't get the second instalment next season... because we'd be back in the Prem.

Southampton game on 18:41 - Jul 22 by Zx1988 | Agree with you on the supporters' club - especially as the club's money-grabbing when it comes to away supporters will have repercussions for Town fans when the boot is on the other foot. About as useful as a marzipan d*ldo, that lot. |
The supporters club have raised the concerns with the club .
Southampton game on 14:41 - Jul 23 with 224 views | bluesbrothers | I'm really torn. It is very expensive. HOWEVER, no one questions musicians charging £100 a ticket? And there's not many activities you can do these days for 2 hours that would cost less than that (that'd you'd actually enjoy)

But watching a band play for £100 tends to be something most people do once or twice a year. Watching football is much more of a weekly thing - not sure that’s a like-for-like comparison.
