Can't agree with you at all. For me, Muric is still the best keeper at the club for how we play. Neither Palmer nor Walton have quality with their feet and they lack the aerial presence Muric does.

Muric has looked pretty ropey with his feet as well to be honest. When that was touted as one of his strengths when we signed him, I was pretty surprised by what followed. I don't think you can carry a keeper that has so many glaring errors in him either.

Andy Marshall is, & always will be, our worst ever keeper.

I do agree but it is a low bar at the minute. He is the least worst, I suppose.

Sereni was a very good shot-saver. In every other aspect of the goalkeeper's art he was totally lacking.

Sereni was cack, he thought he was the dog boll1x though.

The only Muff in Town.

It's the mark of a great keeper to be better than you look in the warm up.

As a reminder for those who doubt him, over 2 seasons ALB played 38 games for us over the course of 2 seasons in those 38 games we averaged over 1.5 points per game, which over the course of a single season would have seen us flirting with the play offs rather than relegation as we were. We also did better with ALB in goal then we did with any other keeper in those two seasons.

From what I recall, ALB only came in as we literally had no other option. Gerken was preferred when fit and was the better keeper by some distance, despite being suspect from corners himself.

ALB did have a few games where he performed well, no doubt about it, but was a very limited player.

Yeah if I recall correctly Lee-Barrett was brought in following the sudden retirement of Shane Supple, leaving us scrambling for a back up keeper with Richard Wright the only senior keeper on the books. With Asmir Begovic later prematurely recalled from his loan spell and Wright suffering a long-term injury vs Cardiff, ALB was thrust into the No. 1 role with youth team keeper McCloughlan (sic?) on the bench. We signed Brian Murphy in the January of 2010, who I believe got injured in the warm up before his intended debut, leaving ALB between the sticks for another couple of months, before he eventually returning to the bench following Murphy's recovery, though he did remain at the club for three further seasons, making sporadic runs in the side throughout.

I agree with you about ALB yes he was never going to play for England, but he done a decent job. There a keeper I keep trying to remember around that same time, had been an ITFC youth player, and we bought him from Watford (I think) , was even born in Ipswich area. Could not catch, could not communicate with his defense, flapped at everything from ground level to everything 50ft over the bar. I seem to recall he only lasted 1/2 a season with us.

I'm calling him, GK with no name...lol

Alex McCarthy? Sent off for handball in his first game? Or do you mean Stockdale? He was decent and also this: https://www.davidstockdale13.co.uk

Dean Gerken was pretty awful too. Never left his line for anything!

Yes he wasn't great, could never understand how for a period of time he kept Bart out of the side, some of the hardcore MMc fans on here used to argue that their wasn't much between them.

I'll never forget being at Lincoln away in the FA Cup and he kept booting it straight out of play from a deadball goalkick when trying to hit that renowned aerial target Tom Lawrence.

None of them have a patch on Paul Overton.

Very harsh, especially as he was considered Town's Man of the Match that game and was a young lad. He only played because of Cooper resting a knock before the Cup Final and Sivell was out injured.

If you're throwing Overton in, I'll throw in Tom Carson and James Pullen. I never rated Hallworth either, to be honest.

Give it a rest mate.

Try being supportive of the players.

So called fans ruined Marshall too.

That’s true. Our finest were on Marshall’s back the moment he first ran out. His confidence disintegrated and he’s certainly one the haters can be proud of.

Looking back he’d been an ok keeper for Norwich, but was never going to be up to Richard Wright’s levels.

Sereni? Good shot stopper but actually a poor keeper for me. The worst? In no particular order:

Lee-Barrett
Loach
Marshall (despite sympathy for the torrents of abuse, he wasn’t great when alls said and done)
Cornell
Fearon (here’s Ronnie!)
Price

A level above these, but i never had much confidence in Clive Baker. Bit harsh maybe, but that’s how I felt at the time.

On a positive note I always rated (no particular order) as the best three:
David Best
Richard Wright
Bart.

Prefer to discuss the best 3 which for me were:
Wright
Forrest
Bart

No way Sereni was the worst keeper - he was a top drawer shot stopper just a shame about the off field stuff

We got ALB from Hartlepool, where he had been released as surplus to their requirements. We were in a fix after Shane Supple surprisingly decided to quit as we needed a back up keeper to Richard Wright, who then got injured so the journeyman ALB got his chance & Keane saw fit to give him a new contract. He never played another professional game after leaving Town.

But ALB's stats are above most of our other keepers of that era so he obviously did something right!

Matty Holland. Was in goal against Oxford when Wrighty went off injured.

He did nothing against the 8 foot tall Kevin Francis who scored his goal with aplomb

Kelvin Davies would have to feature in any best keeper list. Id put him well above Bart. Possibly above Forrest too but Forrest did play in the top tier so hard more difficult opposition to handle.

Don't boil a kettle on a boat.
