Disappointing night, but where is the support on this forum? 22:30 - Aug 12 with 1678 viewsBaaBaaBlue

I've just clicked on this forum and it felt like I'd stepped back in time.

We're 2 games in, and some comments on here are crazy. People slagging off players. Players for your own flipping team.

In fairness this is Bromley we have lost to. That is not acceptable given our squad. We were poor against Brum but this is the next level and it us just not acceptable.

Buckle up mate.

If it's like this after 2 games, just imagine what it will be like if we don't win the next 10 -15 games comfortably.

You have to worry for the health of some of our fans.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

I'm more worried about the health of the club.

What have you seen so far to give you confidence? We’ve been here before with patience and whilst I agree with the sentiment we have been pretty poor, probably as poor as we’ve been under McKenna outside of the premier league. This team doesn’t have our trust like the previous teams McKenna has put together and there will rightly be concerns.

I’m not convinced by quite a few of last years buys so far, still time to turn it around.

It’s definitely hard to see why fans are unhappy. Can’t work it out.

Not like we haven't had nights like this in the past? However you'd expect with the level investment put into the squad to have more quality about us.

I can't decide whether it is due to confidence levels or we look seriously undercooked after preseason along with disruption due to transfer speculations...

Time for McKenna to earn his crust as another run of poor results in the League if TWTD is anything to go by will end up with the knives out.

Need Ashton & Co. to get to work quickly to "help" the squad. Will Akpom coming up to speed be a gamechanger?

(The season is a marathon rather than a sprint so I reserve judgement for now)

I don’t criticise individual players as football is a team sport last time I looked but ffs, we have a right to criticise that performance tonight. If we can’t even beat Bromley, how do we stand a chance against Saints on Sunday.

Poll: Compared to the 23/24 squad how would you rate the current squad (without Omari)

This form has been 8 months not 2 games and if things don't improve in the next 6 or 7 weeks il say its going to become hostile big pressure on McKenna and Ashton and the more poor displays won't help the cause.

Tbf it's probably not the best time to come on.

However lots of support historically was because trust was earned and there was shared love between players and fans.

The squad is a shell of what it was. We've lost the heart of it and we re watching outsiders effectively ruining everything the club, the town community and town players put together before the prem season.

We spent millions last summer. Part of that should be star players tonight.

Bromley never won a league cup game. KMc allegedly a great manager. Nowhere near good enough and criticism rightly applies

Exactly.

Season has hardly started and so much doom and gloom. I've accepted that as a club we don't do cups, shame but there is it, focus on the league now.

3pts on Sunday, a decent performance and we are off and running.

I said that after Friday and got pelters as fans are allowed to let off steam.

To be fair, tonight was shockingly bad, so,can’t blame a few moans.

RIP Sir Bobby

That's fair.

I don't tend to conflate seperate seasons like that.
I know many do but for me there are too many variables between individual seasons.
For me it doesn't help to lump them in together.

I’ve just walked through a horse farm to get to a stadium selling beer from a garden shed and watch us lose to a Kent pub’s reserve team. No, the season isn’t over but we’re entitled to a bit of disgruntlement.

most of the fans I speak to offline are not like this at all, way more level headed about expectations and reactions to games, it doesnt meant we're happy clappers either, but probably because weve been round the loop on this more than once we know you take the good times and the bad times, because we didnt decide we only started to like Town when we got promoted.

We could really do with a fired up Portman Road and a comeback win to both galvanise us and heal the relationship between the players and fans somewhat. At risk of being dramatic, there's a real danger of cracks starting to appear before we even find our feet and once that slide begins, it gets progressively harder to turn it around.

We looked great in pre season against teams who just tried to beat us. Put us up against a womanlike team who try and stifle us and we look sh¡t.
