It's a loan and AAH got a lot more time on the pitch than you might have predicted last year as a 3rd choice. As soon as one of those front line players goes down, we are super exposed.

Not sure of the relevance of it being a loan, especially as it's a loan with a permanent deal attached to it if we go up. Al Hamadi played 125 minutes in the league last season for us and that was with Hirst missing the first 2 months of the season. I don't really see a scenario where Azon is coming here to get that little game time personally. Azon and Akpom are good options if Hirst is injured, don't think we need to add another in that area. |  |

I'm not including Clarke as I think he won't be registered, even if he is going to be fit in a couple of months. Johnson and Young both prefer to play right back, Townsend will be off at the end of the season anyway and will miss most of it, so for me I'd rather bring in someone who is a specialist left back to cover for Davis and give him the occasional breather. |
Window reopens in Jan though innit. It's not so much a season squad as a c. 25 games squad. Admittedly that could be our season if we spoon it up but I think that's unlikely.
I think with Young, Johnson, Davis and potentially Greaves with Kipre coming in we'll roll with that for now. Agree its not ideal though. |  | | |

Boniface is a specialist LB who was clearly in the first team picture last season. Depends on his injury and if they rate him highly enough at this point, but he could be the LB cover for Leif, and until he is fully fit Young and/or Johnson can fill in if necessary |

In my earlier post, I mentioned that he’s injured and missed preseason. I’m not necessarily suggesting we should go down that route, just putting it out there as an option. It really comes down to how KMc rates him and whether he thinks he’s ready for first-team football. Matete is way off our level now. He's had loans into League One the last three seasons and hasn't been a standout in any of them. |  |
