I think that will be the make up of the squad. Keepers and defence settled. Ideally we would have more cover at LB, but with Young and Johnson's versatility (plus Greaves) we might roll with this. 2 CM to come in to join Matusiwa, Cajuste & Taylor. The first sees Barbrook go out on loan, a 2nd then Humphreys goes. If an U21 addition maybe Humphreys stays until Jan to make up the 25 and provide additional LB cover.
Forwards: Clarke, Philogene, Szmodics, Chaplin, Akpom, Ogbene, Burns, Hirst, Azon is 9, or 8 in the near term with Burns injury. Agree with you with Akpom's versatility I think we're done at #9 when Azon joins. 1 more addition, probably right / 10 Omari replacement.

Technically, we don't actually have to de-register players. The list starts afresh after the end of each window, lasting until the start of the following one.
It is possible to amend the registered squad (on an individual basis) between windows, but it has to be applied for, have good reason and approval is not guaranteed. [Post edited 15 Aug 11:01]

Ogbene and Burns are just a completely different profile to what I'm guessing KM wants on that side. We are going to be having a lot more of the ball this season and have a really strong centre back partnership for the level so the need for that hybrid RW/RWB is less important. Jack Clarke may well be playing on the right when Jaden comes back, it may actually suit him better, but we will sign an Omari replacement who will play there its a very specific role and we just don't have anyone who can do it at the club. they probably need to be a lefty as well and need the ability to come inside with the ball, which will also free up Szmodics and get the best out of him. That isn't Clarke and it certainly isnt Ogbene and Burns.
I may well be wrong but that's how I have seen the slow development of this team. THink we would've aimed for a 3 behind the striker of
Jaden SS Omari

Boniface is a specialist LB who was clearly in the first team picture last season. Depends on his injury and if they rate him highly enough at this point, but he could be the LB cover for Leif, and until he is fully fit Young and/or Johnson can fill in if necessary | | | |
