I like Morsy as much as the next Towen fan but I can’t help but think the first half of this is nonsense.
There’s absolutely no suggestion anywhere that Towen did any of those things so Omari had no right to affectively go on strike. All we wanted was for him to do the job he was paid to do. The people around Omari are the issue. |  |

There’s absolutely no suggestion anywhere that Towen did any of those things so Omari had no right to affectively go on strike. All we wanted was for him to do the job he was paid to do. The people around Omari are the issue. |

He echoes the player perspective, quite understandably, and makes valid points I'm sure about how some clubs treat players when they're no longer wanted. Doubtless he supports Isak's position at Newcastle too.
The point about a player's value being met, in the view of agent and player, is a difficult one though. It's why contracts are substantial and why many include all sorts of release clauses, to reduce the likelihood of fallout here. |  | | |

I'm not for one minute suggesting he didn't want to return last summer, but given how quick Chelsea needed the deal to go through before the 30th June, I have always wondered if we'd have been his favoured move had it not gone through before then. [Post edited 15 Aug 12:44]

We haven’t held others to those standards though.
How can we allow our manager to spend an entire summer, speaking to whoever he wants, in the same league, and then fly the owners in from the US, r side his demands to stay are so big.
Then deny players the ability to do the same, in a league above, and for clubs in Europe.
It’s breathtaking hypocrisy.., and a 21 year old boy was crushed by a clubs media machine, including Phil on here.., just to deflect from a woeful window, where we have measurably been a long way from they narrative they all promoted through the summer.
This is progress. We don’t need to sell anybody.
Well we’ve sold 7 of our best players, and some of them have joined Swansea and Wrexham.
The way everyone has used a 21 year old to deflect from our issues off the pitch, is pathetic.
We need to be better at holding the club to some basic standards, or at least some consistency.

Football fans have double standards.
Omari is the devil but Al-Hamadi who is under contact and we've decided we don't want anymore 'needs to go'.
Most fans think nothing of 'upgrading' players (there are exceptions, Morsy Broadhead etc) but most of the time it's just progress. Yet when it's the other way around people lose their minds. |  |
