A mini meltdown because Sunderland won a game on 17:12 - Aug 16 by TractorWood | A thumping win at the start of last season would have really helped us. That spell where we kept doing good stuff but just couldn't get a result killed us. An odd (imo) January window made it very strange. Hopefully we are the low ebb for fan head scratching. A few wins and cement ourselves as contenders and we can try to look forwards as we have done for the last few years. |
Starting against Liverpool and Man City as opposed to West Ham certainly did us no favours, if anyone's interested behind their vitriol.

A mini meltdown because Sunderland won a game on 18:05 - Aug 16 with 340 views | baxterbasics | If I'm honest I *want* a newly promoted club to survive just to prove it can be done and that it's not a hopeless case. Anything to suggest the PL might not actually be turning into a closed shop of 17 clubs plus three rotating guest places. Would prefer it not be Leeds so... go Sunderland, I guess!

A mini meltdown because Sunderland won a game on 18:05 - Aug 16 with 337 views | pointofblue | I just think it's because the start of the season has been so flat. Second best at Birmingham, a flat performance at Bromley reserves, players wanting out and the market being very slow in terms of incoming. Then there's the hangover of last year and the continuing instigation of the double promotion squad in name of progress. A strong performance and, more importantly, a win tomorrow will help the mood a lot.

A mini meltdown because Sunderland won a game on 17:08 - Aug 16 by waveneyblue | Its the same on X and Facebook. Our "fans" almost reveling in it. Absolutely pathetic. |
We’ve a cohort of total cretins in amongst our ‘support’ who genuinely seem at their happiest when being disproportionately negative/tearing the team, individual players or the club down. Makes you wonder how tf these people coped when we were actually sh1t.
A mini meltdown because Sunderland won a game on 18:10 - Aug 16 with 292 views | Oldsmoker | They won a bucketful of games last year so another victory is no surprise. Town haven't won at home in ages so if it all goes t*ts up tomorrow I got the excuse in early.

A mini meltdown because Sunderland won a game on 18:21 - Aug 16 with 244 views | SWLondonBlue93 | I really hope we don't have a whole season of people saying, if A and B and C and D and E and F and G happened then maybe we would have scored 20 more points. It's done now, I really hope one at least one of the promoted sides stays up as the PL is fast becoming a closed shop.

I’m a little bit puzzled as to why you’re determined to present as negative a view as possible of the team you support. It’s been relentless recently. What do you believe you achieve by this attitude. Let’s be clear it’s not presented for discussion because you refuse to acknowledge an alternative viewpoint.

We went down, there's things we could have done better for sure, some more luck and fewer injuries might also have helped, but we basically had the same fate as the other five clubs who got to the Prem in the last 2 years. Sunderland have won a kind opening fixture and some are desperate to pour over last season again. We've got a big game tomorrow in the league we're actually in but some fans are still too busy wallowing to actually focus on supporting the team. |
Feel like this sort of negativity and bed wetting we will have to get used to this season.

On the particular case of recruitment that’s come up, I’ve been pretty consistent I’d say. I don’t think Sunderland are the particularly the massive club they make themselves out to be either so didn’t really agree with him. In terms of this season I’ve been balanced from what I’ve seen thus far, I don’t think I’ve been particularly negative have I? Maybe frustrated on a few things about where the squad to start the season but so is our manager.

I’d agree you’ve been consistent, I’m questioning what you achieve. You’ve always seemed to be quite balanced in the past, although it seems (to me anyway ) you’ve let frustration get the better of you on this issue. No problem, we’re all Town fans, let’s review our transfer window when it’s all done. COYB.

Hmm interesting, I’d like to think I’m always quite balanced and engage with everyone who disagrees, I’ve also said many times will assess it on September 1st for this year. Last season is done so people are right it’s best to leave that business in the past. I agree I wear my heart on sleeve a bit and sometimes need to relax a little bit instead of reacting. There’s probably a fine balance between passion, reasoned debate and frustration sometimes! When you’re not surrounded by Ipswich fans daily/weekly like many of you lot are TWTD is one of the main outlets and common topics come up or reemerge. I’ve just had a bit of a stressful summer in general on a few fronts, I need a bloody holiday!
