Geniune question.

Has this place ever been this toxic before?

Ive been here for 20 odd years and even in the days of Keane/Jewell/Lambert I cant remember this level of criticism against the club. Even more weirdly the over the top nature of it.

There wont be a single fan happy with how things are going at the moment, that's a given. But most sane people will realise that

A) There's been 3 games (excluding cup,)
B) There's been fine margins each time
C) The transfer window isnt closed yet.

But some are going on as if we've been thrashed 4 nil each game and weve got a squad of rubbish.

Was it the success that's made people lose their minds or is it just a reflection of the world today that makes people enjoy being edgy and different on the Internet and winding up everyone who dares to question them?

All I’d say is that the forum is, rightly or wrongly, already not as nice a place to be commenting/discussing all things Ipswich.l as a result of what’s being said about a management group that’s brought us the best few years in a long time.

Premier league was a write off, yeah we bowed out worse than expected but the performances were not bad.

This year the expectations are sky high. I don’t like the entitlement, prefer being an underdog.

Sorry, I thought i made it quite clear what I was talking about and it wasnt Budgie trolls.

But everything you’ve posted is basically b0ll0cks in terms of it being toxic. Let alone the fact you can’t give any examples. We’ve not even got close to bedsheets, protests and the nasty personal stuff some on here have done.

Then you’ve gone into your weird snippy victim act again. I think whoever said you were fishing for uppies and approval had it right. Very strange bingo again.

One thing I would say is that recently there seems to have been less toxicity on the general section of the forum.

As regards the football section, I tend to read none of the threads which seem to me to be unduly negative.

I'm trying to be glass half full..

Personally, I look at last season in The Prem', in isolation.
Drew a line when we kicked off this season. And understand that all the upheaval will require some time to put right again...

I don't even think the International break will be of really great benefit, being as most of the squad will be away on International duty... Spose it will give KM and back room staff a chance to clear their heads after the window and work with whoever is here..

As a club, we are absolutely light years ahead of where we were a few seasons back. There will always be bumps in the road.

It's funny how the same maths wasn't applied last season. When we were 10 games into the Premier League and still without a win, why weren't these people saying "everything's good - we've only lost 11 out of the last 56 games"....?

Worst I can remember and if it was always like this I wouldn't visit. The negativity was worse at other times (e.g. end of MM) but at least everyone was in agreement then! At the moment it just feel like a side-room off Twitter, which is not a compliment.

Nah, it's been MILES more toxic than this. The end of both Jim and Mick's time here particularly stand out.

To be honest, it's not really that bad here as it's not that contentious amongst the majority of posters, just a handful of entitled bellends who want the moon on a stick, who are mostly mocked by the majority for being idiots. Those bellends are spoiling the forum, no argument about that, but it's not toxic. (the ignore button has been getting a bit of use from me!)

Other than that it's varying shades of glass half full or half empty, some a little too pessimistic and some a bit too optimistic, but mostly people a bit concerned by our start but prepared to be a bit more patient.

You really are a sanctimonious prick arent you.

If what ive typed is b0llocks how come its received so many "uppies" (which i only looked at after someone said ive only done it looking for uppies)

Christ almighty ive gone head first against the likes of you many times. Is that looking for uppies?

Give any examples ? You have to read the bloody thing to see plenty but oh no, not in Mullet land.

Honestly it must be bloody brilliant to think so highly of yourself. Something us mortals could only dream of.

Look forward to your reply.

Ps Ive already said TWICE on this thread that ive used the wrong word in toxic, but nobody seems bothered to either read it or acknowledge it when they are criticising me. But then im a "snippy victim" so why should they?

Not even remotely. You have a strange recall of this board.

Given that last season was the poorest in the history of the football club, and this one has opened pretty dreadfully, I’d say the board has been pretty measured.

You’ve really shown yourself to bit quite mean of late - I swear you never used to be so unpleasant.

Ironically, the majority of your replies and outrage that not everyone agrees with you are more toxic than most of threads on here. Be nicer.

Football is about opinions. Many people agree with you - great. Others don’t - and have mostly eloquently given their opinion here. You don’t have the monopoly on how people should think.

It’s 4 wins in 42 games.
It’s the worst full season in our history.
It’s £170 million spent to be worse than the £10 million side we built.

It’s the constant ‘revisionism’ from a minority, because their ego can’t process that their emotional investment in a fantasy wasn’t founded, they might have been wrong.

That’s toxic.

Pretending we were a league one club, a policy little club in the big league.

We spent £150 million, and not a single regular apart from Leif kicked a ball for us in league one.

Muric, Johnson, Greaves, OShea, Phillips, Jens, Delap, Clarke, Hutchinson, Sammie, etc etc etc

The made up fantasy, is TOXIC

To his is the clubs future, the consequences are real, and we are up for sale being one of them…, the toxic brigade can’t even accept a statement from the owners saying we will sell £100 million worth of players and are for sale.

That’s how deluded, detached and apologist they are.

All born of EGO…, it’s not accepting their mistakes that’s the issue.

Everyone in football knows we are for sale, everyone knows players in the Championship team of the year, Greaves, Clarke, Philogene have been here for over a year, and have regressed as players.

The results don’t matter, win or lose.

We have no vision, no strategy, no planning and no contingency, it’s chaos, there’s a football vacuum at the club above McKenna who’s clearly a talented coach, but wants to obsess about that, probably because even he sees he’s way short in some management metrics, like talent ID, motivation, PR and handling difficult situations.

Stopping players leaving to play in Europe, when you yourself spoke to every club in the land, and agreed terms with Brighton, isn’t a good look…, it’s hypocrisy, and destroys trust and respect in the group.

We aren’t divided.

The egos are slowly drifting away…, and they DESTRYED BULLIED and trolled anyone that brought any of these points up to discuss in an adult way, for the last 12 months.

The truth is what it is.

It doesn’t change because you built up an emotive fantasy about McKenna and Ashton. And Thor ‘but we are just a third rate third division club’ nonsense.

£170 million now and climbing.

Forest built a bear champions league team with that, some clubs have made profits in the last four years and are light years ahead of us on the pitch.

Whatever this season brings…, we massively blew a generational opportunity which took TWENTY TWO years to build.

And a champions league contract, and !150 million investment is where it went wrong, awful decisions, and trust in just TWO people is like the Evans era on steroids.

We’re for sale now…, so the financial consequences will impact our club for many years to come.

Long after managers and CEO’s have left the building.

It's the instant gratification era.

We had two excellent seasons and then just lacked a bit of premier league footballing nous in some games. But people forget where we were and how far we've come in such a short time.

That's not without some reservations though, and nor should it be.

But again, three league games into the season with a week of transfer activity to come. As I've said before with previous managers, let's see how we're doing come end of October.
