He's really not looking anything like the player we know he can be this season.
I saw someone on here say it was like he was wearing trombones instead of boots, and that about sums it up. His first touch and passing today was really bad, added to which he headed an excellent chance straight at the keeper in the second half. |  |

I think somebody else summed it up on another thread. At the moment he's trying too hard and his control, first touch and link passing is too often going awry. Perhaps a goal will relax him back into the groove.

Was a bit surprised to the reaction in some quarters to his performance against Southampton to be honest. His best one so far but was still a bit patchy.
Since then he's looked an utter donkey unfortunately. Two games in a row he's been eaten up by very average centre-backs and his touch has been appalling - we're too slow as it is but really not helpful when we play the ball up to our striker and his second touch is a tackle every time.
Shame as I thought he looked really sharp and focused in pre-season, got a goal in the first game that should have given him a boost but hasn't kicked on. |  |

Yes that had crossed my mind.
Not to be too reactive but if Azon has a good couple of weeks on the training pitch now while Hirst's away then I'd be seriously considering giving him the nod against Sheff Utd. Or at least a bit more than a token cameo. | |

Saw CMAT at Belladrum, she gave Paul Heaton and Rianne Downey a run for their money as best of festival. FolkEast was an altogether more sedate affair although my pal Malin Lewis delivered a storming set, as did Good Habits - I think they were at Green Man over the weekend too. | |

I agree. But if we’re honest, it isn’t just hurt. Our players appear to be taught how to take a heavy touch and give it straight back to the opponent.
Azon looked ok today, he’s a bit of a unit so with throw himself around (a delay esque player) which Hirst isn’t. If he had the same focus on performaning, other than dying his hair, I think we’d be alright! | | | |

Better than Sargent according to Postivity this week. That’s why I genuinely can’t understand if people are trolling sometimes.
Never thought he’d be a a 20 goal a season guy but thought he has a chance to have a good year. Really poor, trying too hard and dare I say, even trying to be a bit too much like Delap in his style. Really disappointed with him today, missing that header isn’t good enough in games like this.
