5 out and 2 in would be my guess, Townsend, and one other to not be registered, expect a cm and a ball playing cb to come in. Should imagine we use the last loan slot we have. Would be surprised if we have the funds left to get another u21 signing that's good enough to start due to the premium they carry.

Felt like mckenna has left the door open for a couple more additions in how he has spoken over the weekend.

Five out? DOn't think there will be be anywhere near that. My instinct is Ogden on loan and Woolfy to leave

We have a 30 man squad that has to be trimmed down to 25. And I can still see another signing or two coming in.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Difficult (and not necessarily a good idea) to make them stay if the player doesn't want to.

This is where im at with it. We have what we want in terms of ability, but they will want a dressing room full of people that are pulling in the same direction.

Think with the injury update we're not going to be keeping ali and Harry c around. Cam humphreys needs to play. Send to develop in a non promotion rival and I think we will make a decision on him next summer. Elkan b similar but to league 1 I assume.

He definitely didn't make it sound as if he thought we were done. I suspect if certain target/s become available at the last we'll be moving. An upgrade in CM and top addition at CF are both obvious places to look.

Im increasingly wondering if jp is like Hutchinson and just considers himself a premier league player and is rather put out by the circumstance he finds himself in...I don't really feel like his heart is in the club, and despite Jack clarkes performances, he gives off a different vibe with effort and endeavour that makes me feel he's just low on confidence and will kick on, hopefully at a good pace now (he looked much much better cutting in on sat)

Don't think you're far off with that - if we do sign Jordan James, he wouldn't count towards the 25 man squad, as he would qualify as Under 21; Leicester now interested as well as Wrexham, so a bit of competition though.

I think we'll see loans for several of Woolf, H. Clarke, Humphreys, Ogbene and AAH.

Townsend unregistered, possibly Burns too depending on how his recovery is progressing - we're well covered for that right side.

If we can bring another CB, a loan for Baggott too, although with Furlong able to play there, may get a loan anyway.

Friend of mine has this theory that, at a point fairly early in his Town career, the penny dropped for Jack Clarke and he went from drifting around a bit during games to putting in real effort, tracking back, tackling and so on. People may question his effectiveness, but don't think the same can be said for his application.

Ball playing CB (BPCB)?
I'd prefer a block it, head it, hoof it type after O'sheas chest down.
Pity we couldn't keep both Morsy and Woolfy ( both under contract) for one more year then we won't need a CM and a BPCB.

Was your friend at the Preston game Guthers because I think his theory wouldn't hold up ?

He looked totally uninterested , lazy and just lacking any sort of confidence

Im not sure if block it head it hoof it has been our style since mick mac departed...we just need someone that can do the role with great confidence and experience.

Your not wrong with morsy and woolfy but I assume we are continuing to try and build for the future...

My dear late uncle used to say never trust a centre-back that looks like he's never had his nose broken Think he would have loved Cam Burgess with that injury where he had to have his face rebuilt and came back wearing that mask.

5 out looks a lot on the face of it, but is probably the number needed - just not sure we’ll get it done.

Out: Ogbene, Woolfy, Humphreys, Baggott, AAH, H.Clarke or B.Johnson
In: CB, LB

He certainly gave us some energy when he came on Saturday

I like Jack Clarke and think he's lacking confidence and like Hurst and Szmodics, is feeling anxious and is hesitating slightly before each shot at goal and likely overthinking everything.

Or maybe that's just me?

I imagine it will be an even busier day for that lot down the road. Wikipedia lists 36 contracted players, so they'll have to do quite a bit of selling / loaning-out today.

First rumour I read today was Kenny McLean going to Wrexham or rangers.

I don't think we are the only squad by a distance that needs a bit of a clear out for registration purposes, should imagine l1 and l2 clubs will be looking to really strengthen from hasty exits to ensure players get ganes.

Pl market looks very busy as well

We need cover for Matusiwa, if he gets injured we're then very light in that area. Jordan James isnt that type of midfielder but would still welcome him in.

Do you think the club see Jack clarke as that player? Im surprised clarke hasn't been moved on tbh but if this is why it would all make sense

If Woolfie goes no way will it be on loan. One or two may be deregistered. As far as Baggott is concerned it seems a bit of a strange situation. Why give him another contract to then loan him out ?
I think he could be sold or used as a back up.
Then we have two or three who won't make the first team so maybe loans. Who knows as if they are injured who would want them.
