I think most decent fans would appreciate a statement from Ashton and ownership about what the 5-year plan is now.

Its clear we needed to upgrade on last season but im not sure we expected such seismic changes, even if some players made it clear they didn't want to stay.

The Americans sold off a portion of the club in our promotion year and I wouldn't be surprised if they are looking to reduce the burden on the pension fund.

I can understand why McKenna has the pulling power. He has rightly earned the credit in the bank, but given the club shaped the training ground and the ground upgrades around him, he needs to prove that this team is better than the last promotion side in terms of togetherness and tactical nous against teams that will park the bus at 1-0. A very interesting Autumn awaits starting with a must win at home to a poor Sheffield United side.

We all know the plan. To become an established premier league team and there is no ceiling to what the club can achieve. Europe and so forth.

Hard for us to see what’s happening at the moment when we see previously important players leaving but we need to trust the process.

I believe the “ 5 year plan “ was an Evans initiative to plaster over his and the clubs failings at the time. Not sure it’s appt right now when we’ve spent £100 million + on transfers in recent times. The plan for promotion this season is clear.

Ill Trust the process when I see everyone at the club pulling in the same direction and not radio silence.

Its very telling that when we were in League 1 the Americans were all over the club flying in and trying to integrate with the town. We heard very little from them last season...money talks as is the same with all top teams now.

If you can't see the plan after this transfer window, I'm not quite sure what it is that you need?

Why on earth do we need a statement for the obvious

Players have been unloaded and replaced with higher ceilings for the cost of the Omari transfer fee.

As for the pension scheme, the club is a minute part of the scheme,
almost insignicant, but has made a massive return

Time all this nonsense stopped and we let KMac get on with it

The ones that jumped on board when we were at home to Liverpool having been missing for the last 20 years? Guess Tranmere away doesn't have the same ring to it.

Ah yeah the downvotes start. This forum is ridiculous at times, not allowed an opinion. Im done

Ha, you got one downvote, which you returned to the same poster in their reply.

If a fan isn’t really bothered about a statement from a CEO, does that make them indecent?

If they come out with the statement/words ‘the 5 year plan’ then I’m ditching the season ticket. Too many times I heard that, can’t go through it again

Tranmere are in League 2.

As has been said many times, you are allowed an opinion - and others are allowed to disagree with it. You've basically thrown your toys out of the pram because you wanted everyone to agree with you.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

We know what the aim is but as another poster said a Holland style interview wouldn't go amiss.

I think its very easy to forget a big part of our success was our togetherness as a club, that includes the fans.

I’ll be honest, for me I don’t need/want to hear anything from anyone at the club.

If, for example, we were 10 games in without a win I wouldnt mind KM explaining his thoughts behind what’s going wrong.

Having Mr LinkedIn quotes coming out and talking all corporate is pointless, IMO. He adds nothing in terms of what matters to me really.

I just want to be at PR watching this new lot click/gel

If some player’s requested to move on, as is their choice, then unfortunately seismic changes were necessary. It’s how we now settle, regroup, refocus and go again that’s the key.
Now I sound like Ashton.

We did not hear that much from them in the Championship year either. They seem happy to keep a back seat. Ashton is very much the front of house at the club. And presumably the owners are happy with the relationship.

It’s closer to £200 million spent.

It’s obvious there is no plan.

‘We tried to buy young English players, knowing we couldn’t keep them if we were successful, and would lose them if we weren’t’

That’s McKenna! - he doesn’t know what the plan is. So if you find out, let him know.

Short term.., for Ashton and McKenna it’s self preservation.., signing a Norwich player helps.., it’s the only time we’ve seen Ashton all summer!

Ashton/Ownership on 12:51 - Sep 2 with 926 viewsSuperKieranMcKenna

Not sure there’s any need for a statement. We’ve blown everyone (including Wrexham and parachute teams) out of the water with our summer spending. That looks like commitment to returning to the PL to me.

Whether those signings turn out to be effective is another story, but you can’t fault the ambition.

Club statement?

We're not Rangers ffs, we don't need a club statement for everything.

"Dear Fans

We have bought and sold some players.

Regards,
Gamechanger"

I don't personally see why people feel there is a need to explain so much to fans. Why did we need to know everything - we don't. Let the club do their job

So in your opinion, silence is telling but 200m spent on signings isn’t?

The amount of money, effort and ambition that the club has put in to this window says everything we need to know about the plans for the future. Personally, I’d much rather they let their actions speak for themselves, as they are doing, rather than putting out some kind of curated PR statement.
