Just another ‘concerned local’! Scum fan at about 3:00 assaulting someone and calling them a nonce for speaking sense. Scum in every sense of the word

I'm sure more than 56% would view climate change as a big issue, yet it is nowhere near as prominent in the media, particularly social media

Not wishing to belittle the impact that immigration may be having on anyone's life on here (In fact I'd love to hear people's personal experience of how immigration has impacted them) but the narrative is clearly being driven by the likes of Farage and right-wing biased media.

Climate change is a far bigger issue, and ironically will lead to increased immigration, yet our newspapers and media outlets are almost all climate sceptics

wish there was more talk about our massive need for immigration.

our birth rate is continuing to fall, we're down to three workers for every retiree, when it used to be much higher. how do we expect to pay pensions/keep the country running without younger people paying taxes?

If it's an issue highlighted week after week, and month after month, no wonder it moves to the top of the political agenda.

It's a bit like Brexit which moved from being an also ran issue for many to being the only thing that mattered.

And the right wing media et al are very clever because they ensure such issues become the only game in town and misinform at the same time.

Now I can't find the 2025 equivalent of this data, but Immigration is an outlier where it's the most common answer as a major problem the UK is facing, but that very few people see it as a concern for them personally.

British people see immigration as a major concern for the country, but not in their own lives

Cos the right and Reform have managed to dictate the narrative.
Scapegoating the least powerful is the oldest trick in the fascist playbook. Like the old first they came for the....and I did not speak out because I was not a..
Talk of needing a grown up conversation leaves me conflicted as in many ways I agree but also it's letting Farage etc al set the agenda. We need a grown up debate re inequality which is growing and the ultra rich are dictating social and economic policy. They must love this distraction.
As I have said before hardly any immigrants where I live with zero impact on people yet down the pub this is the main topic. Hence the narrative has been hijacked.

“ They must love this distraction.”

They orchestrate it, for that very reason. It’s a shame so many ordinary folk are so easily manipulated.

Yougov has it at 44% for that same time and it has since risen by another 12% since that date so I would imagine that 4% is now substantially higher. That 10 month period WOULD align with the small boats news so definitely think it would be fair to highlight Farage and media coverage for that increase.

Did people see the people abusing a British asian business owner in Nuneaton? Beer in hand right into the camera? It’s worrying how normal this is becoming, even if it’s a drip of hate at most we are seeing it being given exposure and people debating it, as if there’s a debate to be had.

The gap in social and emotional intelligence between people who are angry and people who just want stuff sorted is becoming vast. Open abuse and racism is not the same as “concerns” but they’re being conflated.

Sickening footage from Nuneaton tonight, where a Sky News interview with a local businessman was disrupted by racists hurling abuse. Another local said, "Warwickshire Council Council has gone to Reform... It's given certain people a licence to be aggressive and racist."

Adam Schwarz (@adamjschwarz.bsky.social) 2025-09-01T18:53:44.921Z

This is the clip.

The beer in hand is one thing. It's the gaggle of children she's dragging around that worries me far more. If they're being dragged around by a drunken caregiver who is racistly abusing random people on the street, what chance do they have?

Also kudos to the guy for staying calm and the reporter for taking him away, but the fact he's used to it is a stain on this country.

It’s much like MAGA - mob mentality and surety that their voice counts as much as the other side’s now. I find it really worrying we have ripped open a hole in society where racists aren’t scared to be racist any more.

We’ve legitimised these voices and views for far too long and now they think they’re right.

I would expect it to have increased if they asked that question again. However I'm fairly confident there would still be a significant disconnect between what people face personally and what they believe the country faces.

If you need to work out what's an issue for the country at large, it's going to be based on information from media/social media and I think news coverage always has that risk of going beyond following trends and starting to set them. Net migration is significantly down under Labour thus far. Small boats have increased, but overall the numbers are down. However if people think 90% of immigrants come via small boats as opposed to the true number of 10%, that won't be their interpretation.

It also helps when the media give them anonymity. Fair enough for the kids, but there’s no reason why the adults should have their faces blanked out. Those poor kids haven’t got a chance.

It looks like we’re just going to sweep the challenge of an aging population under the carpet. Not just that, but also other systemic social challenges such as an increasingly unhealthy population. The demand for public services is only going to go up. We can’t even all sell up and move to Spain when we retire now - or at least only the better off retirees can.

He’s no better than any of the other flag baiting, xenophobic little Englander pond life that briefly floats up to the surface before being fished out by the admin net.

The only marginally clever thing about him is that he floats around the edge, pretending he’s just some low-level bantz merchant with no dog in the race…

The act might convince his odd little troupe of giggling cohorts, but the brighter bulbs sussed him for what he really is some years back

I have noticed more and more Turning Point UK content appearing on Social Media. There's dark money behind this "working class uprising", we live in worrying times.

Even their name has White supremacy overtones doesn’t it? I get people don’t always have the inclination to look at where the money is coming from, but the media should be telling us.

The coverage of Rayner has been a case in point. Platforming Traitor Nige who has multiple properties not all in his name etc.

That video was horrible but I fear unfortunately we will have to get used to it. This is how it starts.... it is only going to get worse as this behaviour seems to be regularly platformed and legitimised by MSM and politicians.

Including the Government, which I have to keep reminding myself is a Labour Government.

And like MAGA these people will learn the hard way. This narrative now that immigration must be stopped, send them all back. That was the rhetoric of MAGA. Until it became apparent that the US government wasn't going after foreign criminals, they went after guys working out in the fields, fixing cars, massive contributors to Society and then some of the MAGA lot realised what they had done.

These people who think Nigel Farage and Reform are the answer will realise the mistake they make when he gets in and the economy implodes and they cant afford a doctor appointment.
