They always backed the UKIP entryist wing of the Conservative Party anyway, which is most of those who have or are leaving for Reform. Works either way for them - Reform takes over from the Tories or the latter are pushed into simply becoming them (maybe even outdoing, in their zeal to reclaim voters). [Post edited 5 Sep 10:26]

Hasn’t The Daily Mail always been on the right of the Tory Party? So if they do endorse hate preacher Farage then it won’t be much of a surprise.
I do think that the moderates of the Tory Party should now spilt to form a new party - still maintaining a lot of Tory traditions but with a softer tone towards the EU, the environment and other social issues. Probably will never happen, but I do think given the present political climate, it’ll be quite popular. |  | | |
