Bring back SAM MORSY 09:20 - Dec 3 with 1294 viewsArnieM

This is the one player that can bring steel and order to any " team" McK decides to put out. What a mistake to let him go. Yes we tried and he deserved a once in a life chance to secure his family. He's done that, but hes back in the UK. For the remaining season hes a must go get player, in January. It would literally lift the club and dare I say fans.

No thank you, his comments after leaving the club basically closed the door on any potential return - he really shot himself in the foot there.

He’s 34, his legs were going and he won’t be match fit for a couple months. He is not the solution.

Bringing him back is the modern day equivalent of telling Richard Naylor to go upfront mid-match.

Funny how people aren't prepared to give Morsy a second chance and yet are happy to give Mckenna Eight Hundred chances, double standards.

I love the guy, but it’s not happening. The endless threads on this forget one fundamental thing:

All the players he influenced so heavily are gone. There’s nothing to suggest he has any influence over this squad.

Move on.

I'm humming and hahing, but on balance I think you're right. But someone like him would be ideal.

Really? I haven't seen anything negative from him. I remember him offering some perspective and essentially support for Omari but nothing against the club. Only ever seen positive things from him on McKenna and the club really. His leaving message was fantastic.

He's not coming back. Bridges have been burnt, and his outspokenness certainly rubbed important people up the wrong way.

He didn't in the Prem. Didn't you notice how many games we lost last season?

All those losses has killed the confidence of the players. We lose a game, and last seasons losses resurface in the players brains.

If it was possible he'd have come back here to train and stay fit, but he's been training back at Wolves - where he grew up, he's clearly finished here.

Indeed, Kieran’s said he wanted him to stay and rotate with Azor, Sam obviously didn’t want that and then made the comments that he did- which seemingly the subtext of has passed many by.
Sadly, he burned his bridges- as he would be a handy squad player right now, if he was showing a good attitude.

Matusiwa is a better player and our future, but he isn't in such a cohesive team that Morsy helped build.

You'd be talking about dropping one of our best performers for a player who was waning in terms of performance too when he was here.

What was it he said? I haven't seen that at all.

I think this is another case of people looking back with rose-tinted specs. See also a post about Brandon Williams...

Whilst O'Shea's stock seems to have fallen somewhat in recent weeks he is the new captain. Whether he's the right man for the job remains to be seen but we have spent decent money on him, at a good age with many years ahead of him. Bringing back Morsey would undermine his position and, as I see it, we'd effectively be swapping somebody with longer service for Ipswich Town ahead of them for a sticking plaster.

If there is one player who left who we more than adequately replaced, it's Morsy. I don't think we miss him at all.

Can we move on from these players please. They've gone.

Lusting after Chaplin, Broadhead, Morsy and the rest is odd. We've moved on, they've moved on. Morsy said something on the Hutchinson transfer which I'm sure won't have gone down too well.

He's 34 and even if he is a miracle worker and gets us plying great again and we go up, he won't cut it in the premier league anyway

I think that is a mad take personally. His leadership, standard setting and drive on the pitch has been hugely missed for me. I don't think he can come back now as the moment has passed but we'd be in a better position now if he was still around. That is no knock on Azor's ability either.
