I hate southern away days at the best of times, but that was honking yet again. No shape, leaders, guts, threat etc you name it and it was lacking today.
If we can make it to Wembley this season we will have to take it, Leicester fans came away feeling the same thing which says it all.
How Taylor gets so many minutes is beyond me, but when Matusiwa is having an off day, you’re always going to struggle. Freak goals apiece and we still lose by two, because with or without subs we have little cohesion, partnerships or fight.
Kipre came over on his own to clap the dwindling away end at the finish, then the manager who looked like he was as lost as whatever the gameplan was today. Can’t blame Leicester for taking their chances, but you can blame us for making very little.
This was the perfect opportunity to stabilise, even push for a win, instead we collapse again. Whatever is going on behind the scenes, we keep fluffing our lines.
Taylor gets so many minutes because Cajuste has been a joke this season. Absolutely honking from him and all that fanfare over him in the summer, powderpuff. Even the Saudi’s didn’t want him, that should’ve been the red flag for us.
Send him back in January and get a proper centre mid in there. We went from Hackney to him. Joke.

We need Nunez in the middle but because the players we’ve got for the 10 position are unfit/no good we’re having to shoehorn him in there instead.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

We do need a new man in the middle in january, but until then I think Cajuste would be the obvious choice instead of Taylor. Agree that Cajuste has not been at his best this season, but I do think there has been much approved performances from him in the latest 3-4 games when he has come on. He has a lot more to offer to the team then Taylor.

But he’s come into games and looked good more often than not in this period. It’s not that Taylor is especially poor, although he, Nunez and Clarke were today far too often.
Jens, Akpom, Szmodics are not poor players but they are part of a cohort of players in this squad we can’t seem to find a consistent return from. So just saying x is sh1te doesn’t really help.
Today was dog shittte. Made worse by actually living here and having to listen to the locals who think they played well, we gave the ball away soo many times it was embarrassing.

I tried not to go overboard in dissecting the performance of team and individuals in my thread earlier, but what the hell, today is a time for justified grumbling!
As with many of our away performances this season, that was just so damn passive, there is just no urgency let alone aggression (or nuts to use a tired macho cliche). Why is there such a contrast to how we play at home?
That long range goal has been coming all season. It's not the first time it's been tried, and whilst I understand why Walton takes that position, he needs to be quicker to spot danger and retreat.
I've no idea how Clarke avoided being hooked, that was an abysmal performance from him until the last 10 minutes or so. Just ran into trouble, or gave the ball away, time after time.
What on earth were those substitutions about today? Just a muddled mess. Bringing Young on to play CM? How has that come to pass given the squad we have?
Hirst. This is a common question, but what has happened to him? Just unable to do the really basic meat and veg stuff of a number 9 this season. He clearly wasn't the biggest problem today, but man we need a more effective striker than him or Azon as it stands.
Taylor had his little honeymoon where he improved our performances, but his limitations are coming to the fore unfortunately.
Akpom was pants. Again. As was McAteer. So much for impact sub options.
As is often the case after going behind, we are so damn easy to manage for the opposition. Just stay organised and patient and unless you make a silly mistake we'll not create much.
The result today isn't the end of the world in isolation, but the continuing poor away performances massively concern me.
Time for McKenna to show us what he is made of. We know he is capable of producing incredible second half of the season form, and it's looking like we'll need to see it.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.

I have to say, I’ve seen nothing of Jens these past few cameo’s where I’ve remotely thought he looked anything half decent.

Even if you can absorb the losses this season, scan through the results and the amounts of draws are killing this season.
The gap between us and 2nd let alone Coventry seems a huge bridge to cross. I can’t see us going up as things stand, we just lack too many things. We need a massive January window despite our advantages.

No shape?
If anything, we have too much shape. Far too rigid, players all stuck in their own little 10 yard square, passes telegraphed between them.
100% agree. Players all brainwashed into fixed patterns of play and positions too static have zero impetus or creativity to take their own initiative to try something different on the pitch.

He reminds me of, and is no better than, Kevin Bru.

I’m not too down beat about that but I’d be very surprised we get top 2 now
First goal from where I was looked liked it could’ve be closed down
Second - Leicester fan on the train said it was a worldie - undoubtedly a good effort but avoidable from ours / Walton’s perspective
Third I was too annoyed by then
Cajustes goal out of no where and you could feel we had the impetus but once again we do nothing with it - lack of urgency and ideas in advancing positions . All too predictable
I think we suited Leicester , like Coventry suited us and whoever was to score first today would go on to win as we seem so toothless in response to going down
Day made worse by bell end next to me who was unnecessarily aggressive and larey - makes you question why you bother to travel hours just to have an experience ruined by bell ends like that

I suggested something similar weeks ago and got absolute pelters. 😂
You got pelters for calling people c**ts and morons when they disagreed with you. Including a member of admin. 90% of what you posted had to be deleted.
Nothing wrong with constructive criticism, which is what Mullers has posted, but you made up complete and utter nonsense that some players had no respect for McKenna ad then started getting abusive when challenged to provide some evidence.

Cajuste did well to get his goal, but I can't believe his lack of urgency to get the ball back to the centre spot for the restart. He was just jogging back and had only been on for 5 minutes.

Nope, it escalated to that after the pile-in.
I posed the idea that some players had lost respect for McKenna, that was all. It was interpreted by a sensitive few otherwise. The clique who spend much of their free time on here are easily rattled when an alternative "opinion" is presented.

That goal has annoyed me more than it should. I get why he's out of his area but he was miles out and unable to cover his goal. Ok, the fella hit it well but it was a huge open goal, something most professional players would hit, given the time and space. Shocking from Walton.
