Looking at or close to getting done?

Had a phenomenal 2025.

However, struggle to see how we do that deal. Isn’t he on a $60k a week contract until end of 2026.

Has come off a decent MLS season with Nashville. Good size.

If this happens, can I be the first to suggest we sing his name to this tune?

What % of our fan base are going to be calling him Sturridge if he signs?

Would be on board with this one. A player that has always had something and seems to have got it together now. My question would be re his fitness given Nashville played their last game on 9th November and he is in 'out of season' mode right now. Although for the same reason, would think it could be one we could get done early in the window.

Would be so, so up for this.

Probably true as I know the club have been doing some MLS scouting. There's a few from over the water we are in for.

Always thought it is a decent place to pick players up, their financial caps mean that they will let players go for cheaper.

Pretty sure it’s someone we looked closely at a couple of years ago so wouldn’t surprise me.

Interestingly, when we were linked a couple of years ago there wasn't much of an appetite for him based on the comments in the news section

Blues Linked With Forest Striker Surridge 30th Jun 2023 13:28
Nottingham Forest striker Sam Surridge is the latest striker to be linked with the Blues. 30

Never really been prolific, other than in the MLS. And i have no idea what the standard is like over there. Possibly similar to the saudi league where's there's a few stars and a lot of journeymen

That's £44k per week, probably not that excessive for a high-end Champ striker in this day and age. Especially if he gets the goals to secure promotion.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Heard this too, well that he was on the list, but no idea if it’s legit. He certainly fits the profile we’d want. I’d be happy enough with him.

Problem is transfermarkt et al is full of “could be” type names so hard to know where rumours come from.

I had one of them! A Christmas present. I linseed oiled it through the rest of the winter, lovingly cared for it.

The season began, I’d practiced in the nets with it and all was well. First match of the season it cracked. Badly. Useless bit of 70s rubbish.

Stuart Sturridge still make bats in Witham, Essex. Hope they’re better than the one I had.

Should have got a Gunn & Moore bat, much better

Always made it difficult to judge the bounce on tricky pitches, those Gunn bats.

A good wage with a nice bonus if promotion is achieved
