| The sliding doors moment was the offside decision 18:40 - Jan 31 with 1765 views | GlasgowBlue | given against Mehmeti. Replay showed he was onside and about to give Azon an easy tap in to an empty net. Score that and the game would have gone the way most recent home results have. | |

It was, he was level, I just can’t be assed to give sliding door moments to officials against Preston at home. Wasn’t guaranteed we’d score from there, we managed to mess up plenty today. [Post edited 31 Jan 18:53]

We really didn’t play well today but the referee had an absolute mare! Utterly clueless much of the time and played easily by Preston.

He was rubbish but fans spent an entire season moaning about VAR and now humans with no help that bottle it in the moment. Want it every which way when it goes against our team. Control what you can control and we had to win that game today really, poor at the back and in front of goal. [Post edited 31 Jan 18:51]

Yeah giving that as the game changing moment is daft.

Kicking it into his own foot sums his season up in front of goal.

| The sliding doors moment was the offside decision on 18:54 - Jan 31 with 1450 views | TractorWood | Easy to blame decisions. We didn't look sharp defensively and didn't create enough. When we did create, we have Hurst and Azon who are both some way off. Kipre has to score that header too. How the club with its ambitions and financial firepower still haven't bought a proper stiker is pretty ridiculous. | |

Exactly, it’s so weak to give a level offside as the key moment.

Downed for your second para. How many more times does it have to be said that it clearly wasn’t for lack of trying - reliable strikers sre a rare commodity, you can’t get them through the door as if you were picking up a nice hot pepper from a supermarket shelf.

Such waffle. We punted £17m on Sindre. Priority always seems to be wingers and forwards. We knew Delap was always leaving. We knew Hirst is injury prone and never gone double digits in a proper league. Get a striker. [Post edited 31 Jan 21:36]

There are so many sliding doors moments that there isn't a sliding doors moment. I think we got what we deserved in the end. Got to be more clinical.

I was really surprised Clarke didn’t score then, but in fairness he hasn’t done much wrong this season. But unfortunately I never thought Hirst was going to score he had time to take a touch and slot it home but as he’s done so often this season messed it up completely. If any game shows how much we need a striker yesterday was it. I feel for him but not sure what’s going on his finishing has been so poor.
| The sliding doors moment was the offside decision on 11:22 - Feb 1 with 224 views | darkhorse28 | The sliding doors moment was building our entire club around Mark, who is every inch EFL and has been for approaching four decades! Not to take away from what he’s improved at the club, and achieved, but to build around geo individuals one with vast experience who just isn’t good enough, and one with no experience at all, is poor, it’s never going to be elite, and every day we prove that. Relative to resources, if we need most decisions to go our way, to get results, then that’s clearly not the issue. Theres an elephant in the room, and it’s been ridden by a naked emperor. Sick and tired of McKenna pretending every club is Real Madrid, like He did Cheltenham and Forest Green too, just to protect himself. With our resources (we have two teams that could make the play offs, and that’s poor strategic thinking) other teams should be worried about us!! When was the last time we dominated any game? Even when we win, it’s a struggle, we win games in moments with quality from Phil And Clarke and that’s it.., two players too good for this level, otherwise it’s £180 million worth of less than the sum of their parts. Coventry away, th only game I’ve seen us in control…, for maybe what, almost two seasons? We can’t blame the refs. The Lino. The rain. The training ground or th low block. The problem is a little more uncomfortable. And difficult to resolve too. If Ashton isn’t up to the job. What to do. And McKenna. He clearly isn’t elite at some aspects of management, where at many clubs he wouldn’t be involved, like talent ID, where we are 5/10 at best. We’re repeating the same mistakes, expecting different results. I don’t think our owners understood 1% why we had success, Ashton and McKenna got 100% of the credit, and we’ve learnt the hard way, that wasn’t the case. What comes next. Because paying out manager £5 million a year to stay in the EFL which pays that annually in TV revenue isn’t obviously an option. Going up would paper over the cracks (I think we will go up still) but we aren’t a team, we don’t do talent if well, and our worst season ever will look like a picnic if you put this group and manager in the prem. 4231 with zero nuance and 95% of the squad light years off that level…, and with no league one PSR season this time…, shudder.., some tough decisions required. With a second season parachute as brutal as it sounds, we might be almost better off not going up and having to sign Akpom and Jens who aren’t good enough at that level, and replacing Ashton with genuine elite level execs, ones with the networks for us to grow. We’re world class for gods sake in terms of resources. It’s time we started thinking world class and NOT EFL. Scratching around for excuses against Preston, Oxford, Blackburn etc clubs with 1% our resources. That’s not elite - we don’t need a refs decision, we’re a world class club with world class resources and bad decisions don’t impact our direction of travel, how could they. But we’re every inch EFL in mindset still and that’s from Mark down. | | | |
| The sliding doors moment was the offside decision on 11:28 - Feb 1 with 212 views | Swansea_Blue | If it’s the one where Mehmeti lifts it over the keeper just after the whistle had gone, he’s well ahead of his marker. There is a defender out of shot though. Is it the one out of shot playing him on? I’ve only seen the angle in the highlights. | |
