| George Hirst 10:49 - Feb 8 with 3549 views | noggin | Something's not right with him. Is it just me that thinks he looks slightly distracted, or even disinterested? Whatever it is, he's not the player he was. With Scotland going to the World Cup, you'd think he'd be chomping at the bit to claim a place in their squad. | |

| George Hirst on 11:03 - Feb 8 with 2902 views | Devereuxxx | I actually thought he looked a bit shirty after coming on yesterday, few comments to teammates about astray passes and generally downbeat body language. Plenty of reasons for that of course, ranging from bad form to external pressure, but would agree something isn't right with the lad. | | | |
| George Hirst on 11:06 - Feb 8 with 2848 views | GlasgowBlue | Bereft of confidence. Not anticipating anything and looks like he’s running in treacle. Needs a couple of goals to get his mojo back. | |

| George Hirst on 11:19 - Feb 8 with 2791 views | Smoresy | He was very demonstrative after Mehmeti's overhit pass, if not fully chiding him. I see a frustrated figure personally, rather than one whose mind is elsewhere. A brace of goals would do him the world of good. | | | |

I don’t have an issue with that personally. It was a really poor ball from a player who was otherwise very good yesterday, but no reason why Hirst can’t give him a bit IMO.

He shouldn't give him that big of a bit - watched it on telly and Hirst's was overreaction. Coming from a player who got on the pitch couple of minutes ago towards one of the best players on the pitch up to that point, was really unwarranted. Pass was bad yes but the reaction was over the top. Beside, Hirst's movement was lazy and ineffective for the most part. With his form and yesterday's body language he will only get himself further away from the starting 11. At this point I'd start Akpom before him.

I think you're right on confidence. I can't remember which TV game it was (Coventry away?) but McAteer had a similar performance where he came on and looked as if he wanted to be anywhere else but on the pitch.

The best thing the fans could do is give him a massive reception next time he comes on and sing his name.

If it’s true the stick he got from the NS against Preston was unreal,he might be thinking fk you lot. Probably bolox and I hope it is but it’s got to do your nut in at times.

| George Hirst on 12:09 - Feb 8 with 2324 views | bluefunk | Quite simple really, no one does their best work in any environment when there’s someone looking over your shoulder constantly moaning at you, telling you you’re sh1t etc. Time for so called supporters who cheered when he was substituted to get behind him (and the team for that matter) then we might see Hirsts best work. Happy people generally do produce the best results. | | | |

Didn’t look like an overreaction to me. He just shouted ‘Anis’ and gave him a look to say what was that? Nothing wrong with it and happens every day in training.
| George Hirst on 12:30 - Feb 8 with 2167 views | eireblue | Had a good pre-season, in interviews during pre-season was talking about this being a big year for him, and setting targets, asked for the No9 shirt, and then has slowly gone from unlucky not to score, missing good chances, to crowd being on his back. Yeah, his confidence has gone, and he is probably p1ssed off. | | | |

But it's not just his goal scoring record. His hold up play and passing has also gone downhill

Very much so, had a right go at Kasey or could have been mehmeti because he didn't pick his run up, should encourage not have a go, Couldn't sort his feet out not the first time that was woeful, We have to remember he's human no supporters will know if he or his family have problems affecting him or his injuries have took there toll but something really off, Hope the coaching team can get him right, Seems to have zero pace now, [Post edited 8 Feb 13:23]

I'm sure he would have a Championship club in for him. I would be surprised if we didn't keep him as third choice even if we went up. He is out of form and lacking confidence. He's not a bad player. Guarantee 3-4 Championship clubs would be interested at least.

| George Hirst on 13:35 - Feb 8 with 1768 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Bit wide of the mark this one Noggin. I though Hirst gave a solid cameo performance yesterday, and looked better that he had done for a while. Given McKenna decided to stick with the strikers we have, this constant critique of them can’t be helpful. [Post edited 8 Feb 13:36]

Fair enough, we all see things differently. I'm not having a dig at him, just feel his body language is off this season. Nobody knows what's happening off the pitch.

Despite all the accolades for Mehmeti yesterday, some of his passing was a bit off. Did no-one else notice? I'm not criticising, just observing. Great addition to the "group." Hirst is having a rough time lately, but we all know what a decent player he is. I hope he finds his form again soon because a fully firing Hirst is better than our other options.

He was a bit hit and miss but I think that's just because he's trying generally more difficult passes. When they come off, we're generally in a great position. Prefer that than someone who is a bit safe, especially where he plays. Neil rightly gets a lot of plaudits for the second goal but Mehmeti does great work there as well.

Yep, that stood out to me too. I thought that after the season he’s had he should keep his head down and work hard. But maybe he was as much frustrated with himself as anything? Who knows.
