They want to eradicate workers rights, they want to get rid of equality legislation and they want to get rid of the NHS. The only way to stop Reform is to hold them to account rather than try to out-Reform them. And we need the BBC to hold Farage to account instead of simply giving him a free ride. Oh - and anyone who votes for Reform is a selfish traitorous c**t.

It's basically killing the goose which laid the golden eggs. Without a well-functioning and prosperous society, people do not have the disposable incomes, well-stocked households and leisure activities to sustain business profitability. We no longer have an empire to provide cheap raw materials and monopolised markets for our produce, nor do we have the massive competitive edge which existed in the mid 19th century. But these people are not really interested in conventional commerce (any more than they understand history). They make their wealth from commissions and fees on moving heavily leveraged debt around. Real-world profit and loss is of no relevance to them. They're just keen on deregulation and cutting costs (i.e. taxation).

As does mine but if they are openly saying things like this then what are they planning for if they get in? Scrapping the minimum wage? Cutting mandatory holiday allowances? Who knows.

And how the feck does he know how productive people are working from home? I do a bit of both - and I'm productive at both. But if people weren't productive they'd get fired (or their company would insist they come in). So it's just another brain fart no-one needed. "This country needs an attitudinal change - work hard rather than work life balance". The hypocrissy from this grifter is unbelievable.

They’re rich people who have never done a proper day’s graft in their lives. Deform aim to appeal to the white van man, the factory worker and have to be out of the house to work. Despite a lot of companies now not having enough office space to bring everyone in, and many employers realising that they can recruit people from further afield if they strike a balance between the office and working from home.

Working from home can actually boost the economy as you can work remotely for companies in other countries, thus bringing foreign investment in.

| Reform's attack on workers' rights begins on 08:00 - Feb 10 with 2720 views | DJR | Here is something from the Guardian about yesterday's speech. It's all really soundbites designed to appeal to their potential voters but it doesn't really amount to a set of serious policies that are going to solve the country's deep-seated problems. "Nigel Farage has doubled down on culture war rhetoric at a rally where he told thousands of Reform UK’s rank and file that he was opening up the party’s lists to candidates for a general election. The Reform leader drew cheers for a speech at the Birmingham NEC where said that a Reform UK government would get rid of all solar farms and take on “leftwing teaching unions.” He added that a Reform government would also ensure there was respect [that] “Judeo-Christian principles underpin the entirety of our civilization”. Farage also ratcheted up the party’s claims that crime was out of control, claiming that there had been a “near total collapse of law and order” in cities such as London." [Post edited 10 Feb 8:01]

This...."Despite a lot of companies now not having enough office space to bring everyone in". One of our managers declared Wednesday an "anchor" day, where he wanted his whole team of 12 in for one in-person meeting. Their bank of desks have 8 desks ....

So basically a pack of lies mixed with a smattering of ethno-nationalism and batshit climate change denial. What a time to be alive.

We had the same issue at my last place. We lost our desks and ended up hot desking and then couldn't have an anchor day without spreading people across multiple buildings. Organisations have had to pare back costs and have been mothballing/selling of estate space. To legislate to force people back in the office when they don't need to be is plain daft and very nanny state.

He's a massive hypocrite of course. He's got a history of barely doing his main job, let alone being present. These no-home working types often are hypocrites. Like Richard Littlejohn who's been banging on about it in his columns in the Mail for years. Columns he's written from his home in Florida

Indeed. My current company doesn’t have an office anywhere in the world. We are all remote and rent a space for the day if we need to meet up. Does Nigel force them to buy an office?

I undertsand that there are some bat-sh!t climate deniers, but why would you want to get rid of solar panels that already exist? What harm are they doing?
