I said before the match that any result at this stage of the season is good and leaves it in our own hands. If we win the rest of our matches we will finish top two mathematically.
Ultimately having both Coventry and Boro fighting with us, Millwall, and Hull is far better than 4 of those 5 teams fighting for 1 promotion place. |  |

When the chips are down you often want the biggest opportunity to turn it around, we done that against Cov ourselves in December, I predicted that win after Blackburn as well. I had a feeling about it tonight. Annoyingly Boro got through a few tough games before tonight. We have little margin for error between now and Good Friday. | |

Not a good result IMO. Cov aren’t even particularly good, I think Boro are a much better team but that’s a big 3 points for Cov. I was hoping they took a bit of a kicking today.
Given we’re averaging in the region of 2 ppg since the end of August you could reasonably say we’re 3 off 2nd, 4 off top when normalised for games played. That Boro game at PR is looking like it could be hooge. We’re well in it, but this is going to be a proper scrap. Fun though innit, it’s what football should be about. |  | | |

The worry is when we dont. We need to sort that issue out soon. Its the only real negative stat this season result wise.

we made wrexham away (league) a massive game after the showing friday just gone (cup), Covs win has now added additional pressure on it. i just dont know if i see us having the bottle to go there and get the win (i hope we have because 2 trips to north wales in the space of a week and not winning will hurt somewhat) | | | |

I think it was a bad result for us last night as it helps restore Cov’s confidence in the run in. Although disappointed, Boro will be buoyed by recent form. They will both be hard to overtake.
I was trying to imagine us playing Boro at home and beating them. We will need to harass them, stop them taking control of the midfield and then take our chances when they come like Cov did last night.

It's a vicious circle.
Ironically, the only way to sort that issue out is to go a goal behind and then come back from it. However, everyone is aware of that stat so the crowd will get jittery if we concede - which won't help the players.

Can we not do that thing where we make out every game is absolutely gigantic when there's still just over a third of the season to go for us? Plenty of games left and Wrexham away is one of our tougher ones on paper. A win would be excellent but not winning won't mean out promotion hopes are over. Coventry and Boro aren't going to go unbeaten for the rest of the season and if we'd matched their excellent starts in August we'd be 3 points off Coventry with 2 games in hand and 2 points clear of Boro with games in hand. We've been performing better than both for most of the season now, individual results here and there don't change that. | |
