It's like some think we should never lose a game.

Always say this defeat was nailed on after the team McKenna put out last week and the nonchalant almost arrogant attitude he showed after that defeat. Wrexham were always going to be bang up for this one and it showed.

If we do make the play-offs there is a good chance that Wrexham will be there too and they are going to be more than confident if we meet that they will have the measure of us.

This is on McKenna, so I don't agree it is an overreaction.

Nothing short of 14 or 15 pts from the next 6 games is needed now.

KM has explained over and over that this summer was biggest challenge of them all with bigger turnover than expected, late arrivals and having to build a new team in perhaps the most unforgiving league of all.

The 23/24 team had been mostly together for 2 years. This side has been properly together for 6 months.

But there were choices involved.

The club could have kept morsy
The club could have kept Chaplin
The club could have kept Burgess
The club could have kept broadhead
The club could have kept ogbene
The club could have kept hutch

The question is.. how many were club choices. How many were KM choices.

New additions were needed.

But similar to last summer. The team should not have lost its soul for the exchange of individual talent.. a mixture would have been better for transition period.
We probably would have won games in August and not been chasing all season.

There is just no way that anyone can seriously argue that the 23/24 squad had a better chance of promotion than 25/26, purely because they'd played together a bit longer. I still back KM but come on, let's be serious here. It's not like our level of squad turnover was unprecedented.

Very little up front ? …we scored 3 away from home one of which was quality.

1 scored by a defender and then their crap keeper never had a save to make.

No. Its not over reaction. There are too many of these games. I thought they would gradually disappear the closer we would get to the end of the season. But here we are. I guess you believe that McKenna should stay even if we fail to get up. But do you really think he has created a football team that has gelled and have leaders across the pitch? We all have our own opinions but as every week goes on it becomes clearer and clearer that he is failing to achieve the big aims of this season. What makes it more gailing is that he is a decent man and an intelligent man.

Thinks it’s well documented that Burgess, Morsy, Broadhead and Hutch wernrt staying whatever happened.

Chappers and Ogbene were our decisions, think Chappers would have helped staying, not sure on Ogbene - not sure either would have drastically changed things

We lost Woolfenden, Burgess, Chaplin and Broadhead the moment we decided we needed to outright replace them rather than bring in competition.

Hutchinson was always going to go. Morsy had a good offer, though I do wonder if off field issues meant we were happy for him to move on.

Bringing in McAteer whilst loaning out Ogbene baffles me even now.

Morsy is a sub for Bristol City.
Hutchinson wanted to go.
Ogbene has done nothing on loan

Will we have still lost too many when we go up then?

Someone's heading for a great big fall. I fear for you when Kuddly Kieran is rightly given the boot after we fail to get up.

What do you expect? We heaped pressure on ourselves by putting that drab performance last Friday. The whole "yeah whatever" last Friday and from the sounds of it we were even worse today.

Doesn't set a good example does it? Some people Last weekend were OK with losing because we had this game. Now this game has gone wrong, it didn't help

those two things aren't mutually exclusive.

you're basing your whole standpoint on because we lost last weekend and some people (myself included) don't want a meaningless fixture congestion.

It’s not that I expect us to win every game it’s that from 31 we have lost 7 and drawn 9 winning only 15. Giving us 54 points, given that 2 points average gets you at 92 at the end of the season which most years gives you auto forgetting what anyone else does from the next 15 games we can only give 7 more points up. That’s the negative spin however the other 2 teams that came down with us are even further off it so while we are not happy imagine how they feel. Then you have teams like Forest and Tottenham, I know which club I would rather be supporting right now.

I have far more sympathy recently for KMc, because judging by recent press conference I think he’s been shafted a bit in transfer market, I think there are signings he has not been fully committed to. I think there are far greater issues with our recruitment department at the club than anywhere else, and I’d be interested to see if Ashton does is post transfer window interview.

Nevertheless, when you watch us, you’d have to be incredibly delusional or in complete denial to not to think we lack a real level of quality and cohesion, and have shown real inconsistency throughout the season.
[Post edited 21 Feb 20:57]

I think there is some truth in the transfer part. We obviously wanted Hayden Hackney and couldn’t get him in the building and we all know we were crying out for a goal scoring number 9. I think KMc has been professional and not thrown his toys out as he is paid well and be given lots of support both on and off the pitch. How many other clubs would have stuck by him through and after a relegation season. The fact we know what we have with the manager and the big money involved to part ways makes it a big call to make a change.

I get the obsession with trying to find a positive in everything, but i think there is something wrong with you.
if that is your first take after what we watched yesterday, well, i dont really know what to say.

of course we know we'll lose (now on 7 losses in the league, with a "better" squad than the "L1" squad btw) but its the manner in which we've done so.

surely anyone can clearly see and understand that? even if they are wearing the deepest shade of blue glasses they own?

Leeds away in 23/24 a far worse performance than today by the way

We lost by this scoreline to Lincoln in 2019. With the club rudderless.

Get some perspective!

what the absolute fck are you on about!
comparing Leeds of that season and Wrexham. jesus christ

then to chuck in a rudderless club (ITFC vs lincoln) as a way of trying to back up your point. you've fully lost the plot mate

Youre relentless positivity is admirable. It is not defeat per se, but rather the manner of the defeat. Tes, we scored 3, came back twice from going behind but all 5 of Wrexham's goals were defensively poor. The lack of leadership on the pitch is palpable at times and our ponderous style can really frustrate. Finally, the way Keiffer Moore played the no9 role today really brought into focus our consistent failure to recruit well in that position when we have £30 million of misfiring recruits sat on the bench plus Akpom who all are not affecting the game. Sometimes criticism is warranted.

The fact you've put 'prem season' really speaks for itself.

You do realise, your entire excusing of every bad result is the squad turnover in the summer which, is average for the entire division this season?

The difference being the other teams in this league had a similar amount of signings to contend with but often only a £10m max budget across them all. We've spent 6x that this season alone.
